Stan for President.

Stan is Moses except instead of water to wine he turns crap into 5th round draft picks.

Next step is to unload Stanley Cup winning defenseman Sheldon Brookbank on some defenisvely challenged team.

Stan is Noah except instead of parting the Red Sea, he adds parts to a championship team.

Stan is Judas except instead of building an ark, he builds a championship team.

Stan is like the Germans, instead of bombing Pearl Harbor, he's bombing the NHL.

I have no idea how legit Hockey Buzz is but:

My first thought, upon learning that the Hawks had found a taker for Dan Carcillo and his salary was that they might be creating room to add a veteran player. This would at least dovetail with the added time it took to hammer out a very cap friendly deal with Marcus Kruger.

Sure enough, I heard this morning from a strong source that the Hawks are making offers to select veteran free agents—Jaromir Jagr and Brenden Morrow were two specific names I heard—to come in and play for reduced salaries, but also a chance at a Cup.

Another player the Hawks, I'm told, would like to move is Sheldon Brookbank, which would create some added cap room.

I can't see Jagr taking less money to win a cup. Nor do I see him as a good fit for what the Hawks try to do which is a nice way of saying he's not fast enough.

Hockey Buzz, from what I've seen, throws S at the wall to see what sticks. Of course the Hawks would like to trade Brookbank since they have younger guys that would be cheaper and couldn't be any worse.

Yeah Jagr seems like another Brunette like mismatch for what the Hawks do.

Jagr could possibly help on the PP but it's not like the Hawks lack talented forwards. In fact, they have too much talent in the sense that they stand around waiting for the perfect pass instead of moving to create shooting lanes.

Not that it matters. Someone in the East will offer Jagr ~$3.5-4 million and top 6 minutes. The Hawks can't and won't give him either of those things.

I have to agree with one minor change. Jagr winning a cup on the Blackhawks would be one of the coolest things ever, if just to piss off Pittsburgh fans.

My favorite is going to be January 2/3 in Brooklyn and Newark.

Wait the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn for next year? I thought it was the year after.

Also, I forgot to put on 3/1 vs. Pittsburgh at Soldier Field

Is it another year? Damn, I thought there was some half hearted "we'll miss the Nassau Coliseum" nonsense this year.

I can get on board with that. They were all rooting for the Hawks because he was in Boston this year.

Didn't that have more to do with Boston pantsing them than Jagr being a Bruin? Jagr won a cup as a Penguin so it's not like he's Lebron or anything.

Yeah it probably did, but they really can't stand Jagr. Winning with him and Hossa would kill people.

Looking at Detroit's schedule and it really lacks zip. Not playing the old Norris rivals is going to kind of put a damper on the regular season for a couple of years. There is going to be a big push to renew the old Wings/Leafs rivalry, which may work but lacks luster right now. I will miss playing the Hawks and Blues.

I will be paying quite a bit to be at MTS Centre in Winnipeg on 11/2. Toews' first game at home will be awesome.

Fair point.

It seems to me that, If I were Toews, I'd rather play anywhere but for the home team. That way he can return a hero every summer and not get any of the negative attention that hometown heroes tend to get.
