if you have too many players on your roster/bench, you will lose the highest of:

a) any points scored by the highest scoring SP on your roster that day(s)

b) any points scored by the "extra" guy who was illegally on your roster

c) 5% of your points for the week (since having 20 players is essentially a 5% advantage over teams having 19 players)

this is what was agreed upon, so truffle loses highest scoring SP for each day for the last two weeks or whatever, right?

Was Teheran really at 10 starts all of last week? I didn't even know that was the limit. I'm on vacation so I'll fix it later today. What is the limit for batters? I have Gyorko on my bench (maybe? Trying to manage vis the mobile is a cluster [expletive]) so I'll have to move him down or release someone.

I think it's always been understood that someone in the minors is eligible for being put in the minors.

This would be the 4th straight year that I know it has been.

no [expletive] way i'm spending the time to figure all that out. i'll probably just do what GR suggested on the previous page.

that will give me two straight wins from my opponent having a mess of a roster. just playing by the rules is like 80% of being successful in this disaster of a league.

obviously if the guy is actually in the minors, he can be in your minors. come on.

In SP's defense, I had the exact same question last year. This league is confusing as [expletive]. There are at least 5 teams that have been added in the last 3 years (and they aren't even the only ones that don't know the rules). At some point, we're going to have to accept that not all teams know what the actual rules are and try to fix that so there's less confusion and less of an advantage for the ones that actually know all the rules.

so i'm going to lose last week because i lose all the points from miller, teheran and whoever i picked up (didn't even need to do that), from a "mess of a roster" that was illegal because my starter hit his allowable starts a week earlier? what about everyone else who has players in the minors who shouldn't be there, or people who have had third basemen at shortstop all year?

You had 2 starters in the minors, on a rotating basis, both of whom had 10 starts before the week began. You then put both of them in the minors to use Mendoza, whose points you're losing. The rule would be that you'd lose your highest points each day and instead you're only losing about 80. I realize the net effect is still a loss.

It doesn't look like anyone else shouldn't have had someone in the minors. Rutledge was in the minors until today (Montero and Pomeranz are both still in the minors). So Mooch needs to make a move tomorrow, if he hasn't already. I've got nothing on the Machado issue. That was a pretty insane advantage for 2 months.

seems rather crazy to lose those points because i broke a rule which i was unaware of and apparently isn't listed in the rules. but whatever, adam is commissioner and can proceed as he sees fit, and then i'll decide how i want to proceed.

This is one of the rules that's actually in the rules thread. SP are no longer prospect eligible once they've made 10 MLB starts (don't remember the cap on appearances). Hitters are capped at 200 ABs.

B. Eligibility

Player eligibility will be determined by the following qualifications:

1. Players with more than 200 or more major league at-bats in a season are not eligible.

2. Players with 10 or more major league pitching starts in a season are not eligible.

3. Players with 25 or more total major league pitching appearances in one season are not eligible.

4. Players are eligible until they exceed the limits set forth in 1, 2, and 3 regardless of participation in minor leagues.

#4 either isn't true or is not worded precisely based on the prior discussion that players that have exceeded the limits can be kept in the minors so long as they're currently in the minors.

you're seriously bitching about this truffle? would you prefer I just take miller and Teheran off your roster? you just want to be able to shuffle two major leaguers onto your minor league roster all year? i think i'm just going to start sending hamels down between starts. maybe david wright on off days. since you claim to not know the rule (even though its actually clearly stated in the rules thread) at what point were you going to stop assuming miller/Teheran were eligible for your minor league roster? 2016?

even more amazing than all this failing to follow the rules is this disbelief over being punished for breaking the rules. there are going to be wholesale rule changes next year or I'm done. Unfuckingreal that you're whining about this.

truffle what do you think the penalty should be for you having essentially a four man bench for most of the week and a five man bench on sunday? I'd like to hear a suggestion as to why you should just get to have extra players on your roster.

and to answer your question, yes you are going to lose. OF [expletive] COURSE YOU ARE. is this a serious question? should your opponent have to lose because you had a 21 man roster?? I'm just gonna pick up the ten best available free agents and stuff them on my minor league roster. then I'm gonna pick up a few more and put them on the DL. and then be like "WHAT I'M GONNA LOSE THIS WEEK THAT'S NOT FAIR."

and ps you had TWO starters illegally on your minor league roster.

fair enough. you're the commissioner and i accept the decision.

that being said, i don't agree with how the league is being run, and don't like some of the changes that have been made in recent months, so i'll be leaving the league. my roster will be left intact, since i think there is a pretty good base for whoever is to take over for me. i have paid through next year so whoever takes over gets a freebie.

quit being a baby and tell me how you think your scoring for last week should be handled. i want to hear your opinion on what should be done.

My closers been benched. Glad the rules provide for lineup changes in this situation.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.
