Villanueva with a HR after a Torreyes double off of Taijuan Walker.

Contreras HR, his 5th, also a single and a steal.

As always when I use my power, you're welcome guys.

I was going to comment on how cold Alcantara has gone, but perhaps you should do it instead.

I'd rather have him focus his energy blasting Baez.

On a different site, of course.

Bleacher Report, quite possibly the worst place for accurate baseball information, is reporting that Almora will start the year in Boise this season even though he is already playing in EXST games, played well in the NWL last season and Boise doesn't start games for another month. Has anyone else heard this or they just wrong...again? Edited by CubsWin

After the draft, the controversy involving Baez may be whether he's in our top 5.

Hot streak here we come!

Thank you, Kyle. You do a great service to all Cubs fans. I don't want you to waste your mojo, but when you feel rested, could you lament Alcantara at some point. The Cubs could really use him as trade bait.

If Kyle actually has any power, why doesn't he focus on the Cubs winning a World Series?

I think it has to be a real opinion. I can't force it. And I've never thought Alcantara was worth forming a strong opinion about.

(wait, maybe that did it?)

Um, Alcantara just drove in the winning run for the Smokies.

Weird.

Oliver Zapata's throw to the plate from center beat Swinson, but Swinson crashed into Contreras, knocking the ball away. Contreras was ejected on the next plate when he swept his leg across home plate, trying to block Wilson from scoring on a sacrifice fly.

Turns out it was just the writer's guess.

More like hope his bat continues to progress to the point where we can trade him for something useful to an NL ballclub type of bad; which most of us suspected from the moment he was drafted.

Christian Villanueva up to .250/.319/.387. Certainly doesn't scream mega prospect, but considering his age and his line about a week or so ago, I'll happily take it and hope for more.

Meanwhile Matt Szczur's at .302/.373/.388. I'm thinking that he could have Michael Bourn as a ceiling and any number of toolsey speedsters who fell on their face as a floor.

I sort of agree (well, except for the slight hyperbole - he'd have to be at least 4th).
