I know you aren't dumb enough to believe making the playoffs makes a team better but whatever. I think its quite obvious that record is a better indicator and points is the best, but rationalize away if you want. Using playoff results is even more ridiculous.

i'd say the "punishment" of getting a later prospect draft pick is more than made up for by the reward of undeservedly making the playoffs.

Here's my vote (I'm unaffected): if playoffs aren't going to be selected by overall record, but by divisions, then the draft order should be decided the same way.

 

If you don't make the playoffs b/c you're in the "wrong" division, then you should get an earlier draft pick. You had no chance at a title, and all the playoff teams did. Doesn't seem fair that a team could be the last one to make the playoffs, win the whole damn thing, and pick 8th in the draft over some non-playoff teams.
