Here's my vote (I'm unaffected): if playoffs aren't going to be selected by overall record, but by divisions, then the draft order should be decided the same way.

If you don't make the playoffs b/c you're in the "wrong" division, then you should get an earlier draft pick. You had no chance at a title, and all the playoff teams did. Doesn't seem fair that a team could be the last one to make the playoffs, win the whole damn thing, and pick 8th in the draft over some non-playoff teams.

It makes no difference in the end. I just resent specious arguments implying I'm a hypocrite. Let's move on.

You came into the thread calling things idiotic and now demanding people move on. You seem a little intense about this.

Can we move on with the draft?

I have the 6th pick and only one of my top 3 remains. Time to get nervous...

Idiotic was Adam's choice of words. Read that however you want, I'm not demanding anything. What is the time limit?

12 sounds good to me. Any objections?

Um...

Why are playoff teams at end? To punish a team because the rest if their division sucked? That's idiotic

I draft seventh and there's no chance the other of my top three makes it past you.

I felt like the 2012 draft was a 7 player draft, and one (Appel) didn't sign, so with Soler there should be at least one draft worthy player making it to you.

Well, my top 3 remaining prospects include one player who wasn't drafted in the top 7.

do we have a running list of available minor leaguers anywhere?

Nope. You just have to make sure they aren't on anyone's roster and weren't already picked. It'll be a big step forward for your team of you don't draft Buxton with your second round pick

If you have a prospect list, just search on cbs to see if they are available and create a list. Mostly its 2012 mlb draft picks and international signings. As far as the top 7 being the only picks, I picked up Oscar Tavares in the 2nd round and Jose Fernandez in the 4th last year, which is less a sign of me knowing anything as it is that value picks are there in later rounds.

Agreed - there are guys I really like beyond the top 7 in last year's relatively weak draft. There are always quality gems even lower in the draft.

I picked up Jackie Bradley Jr on waivers after the draft last year and he's a top 40 prospect now. I remember debating Jose Fernandez when I picked Joe Ross last year. Whoops.

Oh, I'm not saying there isn't value past the top 7, just that there's an easy top 7, and then you really have to look hard to find quality (or luck out).

But easy top 7 for the draft easy top seven for fantasy

The Lindor vs Baez debate is an example of one with a REALLY easy answer for fantasy.
