Is lip-reading gate picking up any traction out there? I only looked at ESPN Chicago and there's nothing about it, just a story about Cutler's press conference where he said they deserved to be boo'd, scanned the comments and no one seemed to be talking about it there either.

Hopefully this thing just dies.

It's around, but nobody's really freaking out about it much. I think his post game comments about a "boo worthy performance" kinda nullified it for a lot of people.

Some info about this weeks game:

The Fox crew that will handle the Bears-Titans game Sunday in Nashville is Thom Brennaman, Brian Billick and Laura Okmin.

Referee Terry McAulay and his crew will handle the Bears-Titans game on Sunday.

The Bears opened as a four-point favorite over the Titans on Sunday night at LVH in Las Vegas.

I wonder if Emery will try to upgrade before the trade deadline. Brad Biggs reporting that Dwyane Bowe would be an interesting name for Emery, though I have my doubts with us not owning a 3rd round pick.

Yeah, and I really don't think that's a fit unless Jeffrey is out a lot longer than anticipated.

Without looking at the complete stats I want to say offensively we're worse at this point then we were last season. That's with a big upgrade to our WRs. I think an above average TE would improve things more so then Bowe.

26.4ppg and 319.6ypg this season

24.3ppg and 337.4ypg last season through 7 games.

Can't wait till the Jay Cutler show gets podcasted, sounds like a good one.

"I told (Brandon Marshall) when we got into the locker room, he's like, 'They booed us.' I was like, 'I know, I would boo us too.'" Cutler said. "It was ugly, and we didn't snap out of it until 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Questioned again about the subject, Cutler joked, "Is this court? Are we in court right now? Are you a judge and jury?" Then the quarterback explained again that he chooses not to engage in debate about subjects referring to seemingly trivial matters such as his body language or sideline demeanor.

"I'm not going to get involved with it," Cutler said. "I can't control these things, what websites say. So we should have been booed. Rightfully so, we got booed and we have to get better. That's that."

Well... the interesting thing is that Bowe will be a FA after this season so he would be a half season rental most likely (same way with Jared Cook). Wouldn't this lower their trade value just a touch? I agree that just any TE that is better than what the Bears have would be a really nice weapon for the offense, but if Bowe truly is available and can be had for a reasonable price (could always offer 2014 3rd rounder) then you pull the trigger and go for it this year. Although Jared Cook would be great as well. Titans are just stupid with how they use him and how rarely he plays... I think he played less than 50% of their offensive snaps in like 4 games out of 7 so far.

I just can't see anyone offering enough to make a trade IMO. It's why we rarely see in-season trades (at least with a player like Bowe anyway).

Also you don't have a lot of time mid-season for a guy to be able to learn a system.

Also the salary of Bowe's is problematic with anyone who is close or over the cap so it limits the Chiefs on where to trade him. On top of that, if traded, Bowe wouldn’t be able to sign a long-term extension with his new team, as the deadline for franchise players to sign new deals has passed.

I'd love to add a center, guard and tackle to this offense. What's the over/under on how many more false start penalties will Garza have this year?

I'd take 2 tackles.

I can't believe how bad Carimi has been. That wasn't supposed to happen.

Now we know why Angelo rarely spent high draft picks on the O-line. Between Williams, Carimi* and Columbo, we got maybe 2 games of solid production combined.

*Though I'm not at all ready to give up on Carimi

I'm not upset with Carimi. He will have growing pains and is still technically in his first NFL season.

Jared Cook would be a great upgrade that would also help with our blocking. He can be had for less then a 3rd rounder imo.

While I'd love to get Cook, I'd rather spend resources to trade for OL at this point.

Carimi is struggling with pass blocking, and excellent at run blocking. This is still for all intents and purposes his rookie year. It's a little early to write him off as a bust.

Even more reason to pound opposing defenses by running the ball. I think Martz and now Tice have had games that leave us scratching our heads as to why they refuse to run more. Bush got what? 4 touches yesterday? Forte only ran 17 time? Not enough.

Didn't realize the trade deadline was so soon, although it's apparently been pushed back to Thursday at 4 EST. I'm trying to remember but I feel like the Bears rarely if ever do much at the deadline. Is this actually the case?

Most NFL teams do nothing

That's what I figured.
