What a defensive performance.

Poor IMB. This is the first time I've watched Landry Jones play an entire game; he must drive OU fans insane.

And he has to come to terms with the Harden trade.

Ouch. Rough sports night.

Does Notre Dame get to three? This has to be one of the better title game races. I feel like every other time there are a bunch of teams in the mix it's because they have 1 or sometimes 2 losses.

He gets a lot of comparisons to Tony Romo.

On another note, I watched this game with a lot of PA students. Yea, I saw my fill of the Lattimore injury. They were actually impressed with him losing all 4 nee ligaments and breaking his femur.

I bet they get to No. 3 this week. But Oregon will jump them in the next few weeks if they continue to win since they have a tougher remaining schedule (both have @USC but Oregon also has vs. Stanford and @Oregon St plus the Pac-12 title game).

Kenny Stills obviously bet under 48 on the game. Edited by soccer10k

I have a feeling Oregon is going to get beat one of those games for some reason. That may just be because I'm on the Notre Dame bandwagon though.

I think if Oregon gets by SC next week, they'll be fine. Stanford couldn't match up with them either of the last two years and that was with Luck and Oregon State hasn't played anyone and is losing at Washington right now.

I don't think Oregon is ever going to catch ND in the computers without the Irish losing. And they're not exactly in a position to improve the distance between them in the polls, either.

@HMack3: South Carolina RB Lattimore suffered a broken femur, broken patella, torn ACL, torn MCL, torn PCL, and torn LCL.

Maybe it'd be easier to list what didn't get broken and torn.

How would they have gotten an MRI already? No way the swelling has gone down yet.

ND is going to get a boost from the polls because Florida lost. But Oregon's next three games are @USC, @Cal and vs. Stanford while ND plays vs. Pitt, @BC and vs. Wake Forest. Cal is at No. 54 in Sagarin while Pitt is the best of the three ND opponents at No. 80. If both win, Oregon's going jump in the computers from those three games while ND isn't.

I don't think Oregon is going to drop from being a solid No. 2 in the polls so as long as they're decent in the computers, they're going to stay ahead of ND. Plus Alabama is currently behind ND but ahead of Oregon in the computers but if they win out (games at LSU, vs. aTm and SEC title game), they'll certainly jump the Irish. And since they're already ahead of Oregon, that only affects ND.

You don't need an MRI when it's trashed that bad. A good PT/doctor can tell what is and isn't intact just by manipulating the joint.

Paul Finebaum tweeted that ND/Alabama could be the biggest title game ever. Eh, I guess.

I don't feel like the title game is ever that anticipated (I assume that's what he would mean by biggest title game as that distinction doesn't quite make sense to me.) and that probably has to do with the fact that it's about a month or so after the season.

I do feel like the USC vs Texas game was the only one that I remember being that hyped up.

Setting aside the obvious part about jumping way ahead of himself on that, it probably would be the biggest since that USC/Texas 2005 game.

But Finebaum is a Bama honk so of course he feels that way.

Personally, I'd be more interested in a Alabama/Oregon title game.

Speaking of Oregon, they have had a 4 touchdown lead in the first half of every game this year but one. That one was against Washington State, and they were up 52-19 in that one with 11 minutes to play. They haven't played much of a gauntlet, but they're incinerating everyone in their path right now.

That's my second most desirable title game. I'd love to see what Oregon's offense could do against Alabama's defense. I really think this is Oregon's best offense under Kelly and that's saying something, then again, that could just be a product of a less than stellar schedule. We'll see in the coming weeks.

The SC-Texas game was bigger than Bama-ND would be for a number of reasons. You star power in Leinart, Bush and Young (all top-10 picks). You had a pair of prolific offenses which were held under 34 points only once all year. SC was the defending champs and riding a 34-game winning streak while Texas went 11-1 the year before capped off with the Rose Bowl win over Michigan. The teams started 1-2 in the polls and that never changed and everyone was looking forward to that game before the season even started.

11 teams entered today undefeated and only six remain: Alabama, Oregon, Kansas St, Notre Dame, Louisville and Ohio State.

No one's going to argue that KSU should be ranked above ND right?

I was going to but after doing a bit of research, I realized I thought Kansas State's schedule was harder than it actually was. If both win out, I'd say Kansas St. should probably be ranked ahead.
