Game 5 - BEARS @ Jacksonville Jaguars - 3:05 PM

Posted

I don't know much about JAX, except that they have MJD. I'm not concerned about the game, but the Bears will likely have to hold up all game being run at, rather than going after the QB every play and tipping balls for INTs.

That could make this a much closer game than expected. Fewer turnover opportunities, more of a grind-it-out affair. I'll go 23-17 Bears.

Hot damn, I love that man.

Also between the hot pink billed hat and glasses, I love that Tice looks like a sad old man trying to be trendy.

Yeah, hehe. Cutler wasn't blowing off Tice, he just didn't recognize him.

I'm all for breast cancer awareness, believe me. But the pink last night. Wow.

I've heard this suggested on the radio this morning...maybe Cutler was walking away so he wouldn't say something he'd regret to Tice.

Doubt if the media makes a big deal out of Cutler having some fun with the linemen that gave him pretty good protection last night.

Mac and Spiegel really getting into in on The Score over this. Mac thinks Cutler is a total tool, and that the Tice thing was totally disrespectful, etc. Really making a big deal about it. Him and Spiegel getting into a screaming match for a bit. Good radio.

is it just me, or is major wright becoming a pretty good safety in the NFL?

He's gotten better. But health has always been his biggest issue. This might be his longest healthy stretch. I'd like to see him healthy for a whole season before i get too excited.

Two of his picks this year have been on tipped passes, which count just the same, but still.

WRIGHT PLACE, WRIGHT TIME

I have a major issue with your puns.

The Cardinals might be 4-0, but they're way too high in rankings right now. They've been outplayed in three of their four games.

I don't listen to that show very much, but it seems like Mac spares no opportunity to rip into Cutler. Like Jay killed his dog or something.

Yeah, and listeners are pointing out that Mac has not exactly been a role model employee throughout his career, but Mac didn't take too well to that comparison.

Come to think of it, that's spot on. Cutler should be Mac's kind of guy. Bounced around a bit in his career, has a rep for being a little grumpy & stand-off-ish at times, etc -- but has also experienced success.

Mac is terrible, I used to listen to that show at lunch for a little bit but it's grating. It's hilarious he bags on Jay when he's a got a hell of a lot more personal issues going on than just being smug.

I like Spiegel. And Mac can be funny, he's just wrong about everything.

This x 100. This is the guy so socially unbalanced that he has to be medicated 24X7 just so he doesn't go apeshit on everyone he comes in contact with.

I get that's he's got psychological issues and needs to be medicated. Completely understand. It's the fact that he stops taking the meds and abuses other 'substances'. Then misses work for weeks, plus he's got a whole past filled with this stuff if I'm not mistaken. It takes a lot of balls, or stupidity, to judge someone else's demeanor and work behavior when you're a first class [expletive] up yourself.

DVOA is weird this early in the year.

Bears move from #5 to #9 overall. #3 defense last week, #1 this week week, however. #2 ST last week, #3 this week. #27 offense last week, #21 this week.

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2012/week-4-dvoa-ratings

The Bears' DVOA actually went up from last week, but other teams' DVOA went up more due to the reconfiguring of opponent adjustments from 2011 projections (how teams finished last year) to 2012 results (how teams are this year). There's basically a steep dropoff after #9 (Minny), and then a vast ocean between #11 (Seattle) and #13 (Philly).

Yea. I get it (and I corrected my post because I put 9 instead of 8 for some reason). Just found it a little funny.

One other thing I noticed from the FO data: Detroit's schedule from here on out is murderous. They've already played St. Louis, Tennessee, and home vs. Minnesota. They still have games against Jacksonville and Indy, but the rest of their schedule is as follows:

2 v CHI (3-1)

2 v GB (2-2)

@ MIN (3-1)

@ ARI (4-0)

@ PHI (3-1)

v SEA (2-2)

v ATL (4-0)

v HOU (4-0)
