"For some reason people don't like them and until they win big, every little thing they do is going to be over-criticized," Barkley said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "Same thing with LeBron (James). There are certain people that the media just don't like ... We've all yelled at coaches and players in the heat of the moment. Is it something personal? No, it's a very emotional game."

"Players don't care about that stuff," Barkley said. "It's the people in the media that keep it going. They want to keep it going because, especially in football, you've got a whole week in between games and there's nothing going on. It makes great 'Who's side are you on?' (debate). But players don't think about that. They always talk about bulletin board material. If I had a coach who sucked so bad he had to bring me something somebody said about me on TV or in the newspaper, I'd punch him in the head."

I'm not seeing the Lebron comparison, cuz there's very unique reasons behind the Lebron hate. But generally I agree.

I don't see what is so unique about it.

You don't think "The Decision" is a pretty unique circumstance? That's really the point where most of the Lebron hate began.

Not really. There was lots of hate before that happened. And while the specific way he went about it was new, there's nothing really unique about hating a supposedly me-first star player who can't win in big games and leaves his original team for better opportunity to win.

i'm down with moving williams back to LG asap. i also think louis is the best pass blocker on the team and should be on the edge.

they obviously didn't anticipate the packers doing anything gimmicky last week, either, so i'm putting the line woes on the staff at this point.

The coaching staff or the personnel staff?

The line's biggest problem is a lack of ability. They are stocked with garbage talent. You can only coach up the line a limited amount. Now, Tice hasn't exactly done anything of note to make lemonade out of these lemons, but they are lemons. Soft, squishy, bitter and easily peeled lemons.

LM: #Bears DT Henry Melton’s 10 sacks since start of 2011 season are most among NFL defensive tackles.

Yeah, thru 2 games I've been impressed with the d-line. They aren't as bad as I thought, however they do need to play the run better.

Oline, tight end and LB seem to be the weak spots on this team

The DL's job isn't to defend the run, per se. It's to get up field and allow the LBs to make plays. Which leads me to my 2nd point. How are LBs a weak spot? And third, who cares that TE is a weak spot? TEs are overrated by the Patriots and Jimmy Graham's successes. The team that won the Superbowl last year had some of the league's least talented TE group. Basically, the Bears can get away without drafting a single LB or TE next year and still be a very good team.

First off, to this point our LBs have looked average. Between age and injuries, it's a position that is slowly getting worse. Regardless, cover 2 doesn't work with a slow, hobbled middle LB.

Zone coverage and 2 man will continue to be played against us if we cannot learn to hit the receivers playing in the slot or being able to utilize the TE to keep th defenders honest. Kellyn Davis cannot block and is very average.

All defenses will do is double cover Marshall and wait for the force pass from Jay.

It's like you only watched the Colts game. But the LBs were fine in the Packers game. Hell, Briggs was great with 10 tackles and a pass deflection, and was generally all over the field. Urlacher had 8 tackles himself, and looked a lot better than Week 1....when he played 1/2 a game.

And it's not like the TEs are not being used. TEs were targeted 8 times vs. GB, only 2 catches, but Davis caught the only TD. Only 2 targets in Week 1, but wasn't necessary as they were able to do whatever they want getting the ball to the WRs. Bottom line, it's not necessary. The Bears offense was on the verge of being pretty good when Cutler got hurt last year and they were completely disregarding the position.

Remember when Robbie Gould had never hit a 50 yard FG in his career and Lovie would choose to punt rather than have him attempt it from 50 or more?
