Ran into a guy today who is an SEC Ref and I started asking him about the NFL Ref situation. He said that they were all told by their SEC officiating boss that any SEC refs that leave to go be a scab will not be welcome back into the SEC, and he thinks that similar "rules" were laid out in the other conferences. Also, and this probably goes without saying, that the scab refs will likely be blacklisted from ever doing NFL work again. That may help to explain why these scabs don't seem to be very good.

The scab refs are from high schools, independent leagues and such. None had much of a prayer of ever working in the NFL outside of this anyway.

Definitely. There was a reason they couldn't use BCS refs, but I don't recall exactly why. But it was never an option.

They said that the crew chief of the Dallas-NYG game was a chemistry teacher in Boise.

I think I've heard one of the refs was fired from the lingerie league at one point.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson did not practice today. May be nothing, may be something. Lions will update injury report later.

Hopefully he just had the runs or something.

So apparently, the NFL has pulled the line judge from the Saints-Panthers game after ESPN learned he had pictures posted on his FB page of him wearing Saints gear, he identified himself as a Saints fan, and that this comment "Hey, now be nice with those yellow flags for our Saints!!" on his page from a friend.

Ugh, putting games like Minnesota vs. Indy on for anyone other than people in Minnesota or Indianapolis should be banned. Every other FOX game would be preferable to this in Chicago.

What's worse? That or only KC@BUF?

Whoever is announcing the Vikings/Colts game just called the Vikings the Saints. With four minutes left in the third quarter.

And Philly just lost its second offensive lineman of the game, and at least one of them was a bad injury. They'll still have a better line than the Bears

Do you guys not get RedZone?

I do...and I think I drank too much last night because despite watching Red zone literally every week last season and last week as well, it took me an hour into the games to click with me that I could put it on.

I'm watching the Buffalo and KC game and Cordy Glenn at LT is absolutely burying Tamba Hali

CJ Spiller is good at football

Minnesota has had at least three completed passes go for losses on this drive. They're really lucky Luck ran backwards and the Harvin injury happened on the other side of the two minute warning
