Kyle, the voice of reason? How odd.

Hope it's not too severe.

He held his own against much more advanced pitching and continued to show the flashes of talent. I'm happy with how it turned out, even if it was cut short.

Where would we place the pitching in the AFL in relation to the pitching he will be facing next year at Daytona?

A broken thumb is better than a broken wrist or ligament damage, I guess?

easily

I think the best of the best pitchers in the FAL are about the same, possibly slightly better, but on a whole he will face slightly lesser pitching in the FSL than the AFL. I think.

Well, only about 15% of all players (position players and pitchers) in the AFL were playing below AA at the end of this past season, so most of the pitchers are AA-level already. Since teams rarely send their best pitching prospects and often send fringier guys, I'd imagine the pitching is closer to the A+/AA border while the hitting is closer to the AA/AAA equivalence.

Of course the stadiums in the FSL are very pitching-friendly, including Daytona's.

Baez, who is playing for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League, incurred the injury off-the-field, apparently while celebrating, a team source said.

After sitting out Sunday's game, Baez was sent to see a specialist on Monday. The Cubs believe it's a broken tip of his thumb, and will shut him down for the remainder of the Fall League.

The injury isn't expected to affect Baez's readiness to go to spring training next February.

Please tell me he didn't trip over his playstation.

And by trip over PS2, do you mean try to jump into the pool from the second floor of your motel?

I'm reading that as he did it while celebrating, at the stadium(dugout?). And unless we hear otherwise, it's what I'm going to continue believing. And in all honesty, if it was something else, I think we'd hear about some sort of disciplanary action.

Logan Watkins replaces the injured Javier Baez on Mesa's roster.

The Baez injury happened during the game, possibly giving a high five. Definitely did NOT punch a wall or anything though.

Who the hell high-fived him so hard he broke his thumb? Off with this head!!!!!
