Not too surprised about this. When a mediocre player suddenly turns into a superstar, it's usually not just a player suddenly discovering how to hit.

sometimes it's a player turning 27 and hitting their prime.

The key word in your post is "sometimes".

Some moron on deadspin tried to write an article where he claimed steroids didn't help Melky at all, it was just him being in better physical condition that made him better.

"My positive test was the result of my use of a substance I should not have used," Cabrera said in a statement released by the players' union. "I accept my suspension under the Joint Drug Program and I will try to move on with my life. I am deeply sorry for my mistake and I apologize to my teammates, to the San Francisco Giants organization and to the fans for letting them down."

Well he didn't try to minimize it.

I was just about to post the link to that article. A pretty hilarious and almost-clever-but-mostly-inane attempt to cover up his TST test using a fake product website. Can't make this stuff up.

If I'm gonna be wrong, I like being way wrong. That's hilarious.

it's not so much the steroids but the incredible strength he suddenly has.

With the whole website fiasco, there's rumors he may get suspended even longer. The amount of cash this guy just lost is insane.
