NO Soler for Peoria tonight.

@KevinCapie: #Chiefs mgr Kopitzke on no Soler Wednesday: "He's got a little something. Hopefully he'll be back tomorrow."

Don't know how to quote tweets in here, but Goldstein talking about Vogelbach/Boise now. You can thank/blame me for him talking about the Fielder/Vogelbach comps.

I don't think you're the only one making that comparison.

On the surface it might seem it's just because they're both fat, but there are a lot of similarities. Both are LH 1B, have big power to all fields, and have good hit tools. Neither can defend or run, but aren't as much of an athletic disaster as their physiques might indicate.

Obviously Prince is probably more athletic and has a better hit tool, but there is a comparison there to be made that goes beyond the obesity.

Does anyone know what Nick Struck throws and what type of stuff he has? I'm not getting what's keeping him at AA at this point, especially with the impending Rule 5 protection decision.

I'm not sure what 2.5 weeks at Iowa is going to do for him; the AFL would be far more beneficial for his chances of making the 40-man.

At this point it's not just a question of beneficial, so much as a question of why not. I'm sure I'll be accused if having an irratinal love for the guy, but we should be evaluationg anything resembling a big league ready starter.

If all goes right, our 2013 rotation could be Garza-Vizcaino-Samardzjia-Wood-Volstad. Then again, it could also be Samardzjia-Wood-?-?-?.

No. I too think Struck should be at AAA but I don't think a few weeks will really matter now.

Also, don't expect much out of Vizcaino next year. He'll be rehabbing AND he's never thrown that many innings in a season.

For those of you who check the first post for the box score breakdowns, I'm sorry but I didn't have time to do anything more than link the boxes.
