I'm not even sure why Mickelson even bothers playing the British open. I think his best finish there is something like 30th.

Tomorrow will be nice because a lot of the interesting/big name guys up high on the leaderboard will be teeing off after 8 a.m. central time.

He grabbed the lead during the middle part of his round on Sunday. Then he missed a 3-footer and Clarke went on a run.

If there was ever an Open where Mickelson should've played well, its this one so far. Zero wind. Americans all over the top of the leaderboard.

 

He did take second last year, and recently has played a little better in the Open, but he's been terribly off this week. And perhaps he just psyched himself out. He played pretty well last week.

 

You know he wants the career grand slam, and for him the British Open is going to be the much harder one to get.

Tiger is going to have to hit some woods off the tee tomorrow. Leaving 200 yard approach shots isn't going to do it for him tomorrow. Should be interesting. Going to be real tough to pass 3 guys. I think Macdowell will be very tough if Scott falters.
