His problems seem to be between his ears. He looked like he had no clue how to get an out after there were two runners on base in the 5th inning.

At 25, Volstad still has a glimmer of hope. The alternate options do not. And for what it's worth, Samardzjia was horrible until he was 26.

Also stated that Volstad wasn't fooling anybody even when he was getting outs. Unfortunately, he said they have no other option unless Dempster makes his next start. Seems like the skipper is not happy at all with Volstad.

Volstad makes Casey Coleman look good. BTW Coleman just turned 25, but they both prove that age has nothing to do with it. I wonder if it's worth trying Volstad as a short reliever and let him throw hard for 3-4 batters.
