That may be true, but it is not due to lack of effort. I respect the guy for going out there every day and playing through pain, but the injuries are definitely taking a toll on him.

At this point, he probably needs to go on the DL or shut it down for the season and have surgery. I can't imagine it's going to get better on its own, and his defense is starting to cost our pitchers and team.

I know the Cubs are nowhere close, but what is the record for most consecutive road losses? Cubs at 10 in a row right now.

 

Edit: Looked it up myself. The record is 24 consecutive road losses by the 1899 Cleveland Spiders. The modern record is 21 by the 1988 Orioles.

 

Also, the Cubs are 6-20 on the road this year, on pace for a 19-62 road record. The worst road record in MLB history is 17-64 by the 1963 Mets and 2010 Pirates. The Cubs would have to go 11-44 to tie that record.

Nnice to see that great right handed duo of Baker "the lefty killer" and Koyie Hill go a ccombined 0-6 today. Both have been almost automatic outs lately and LaHair and Clevenger couldnt have done worse. So tired of the "right handed" lineup.
