Young Vitters: .266/.316/.430 11 2Bs/ 5 HRs/ 10 BBs/ 30 Ks

OPS at 1.082 in his last ten.

He's gone through a big adjustment period at pretty much every level so far before turning it on and becoming productive. This gives me hope for his future. Still like him as a starter at 3b in the next year or so.

Same here. Stewart is just keeping his seat as warm as Stewart can keep it, nice and lukewarm. Still think he can turn into a Travis Fryman type player.

That sure would be nice. A guy who can hit around .280 with 15-20 HR is a nice piece to the puzzle. He may not walk quite as much though.

I don't buy your analysis of the slider, and I haven't even seen it.

in other words, you have no information whatsoever but you posted because you had to reach your self-imposed goal of 100 posts a day.

Assuming that latter's .217 BABIP isn't permanent, I don't see Vitters being good enough to take the job away from Stewart in the next year and a half.

I like Vitters quite a bit, but I suspect his value will be greater to a small-market team in need of a cheap 3b solution, and we'll be able to use him as a trade chip to that end.

Marco Hernandez 2/3 with a triple and home run today. Up to .209/.248/.301.

It's going to suck if he's the odd man out with Baez coming. DeVoss has 2nd most likely. Maybe Darvill gets the hook. His offensive line isn't special obviously, but I noticed tonight he already has NINETEEN errors. Holy [expletive].

Theres no way they'd let a guy with Hernandez' ceiling be the odd man out. He's still one of our top prospects and Darvill is nowhere near.

If Hernandez loses playing time, he's better off going down to Mesa for 3 weeks and then up to Boise. While that's being the odd man out in Peoria, that demotion would indeed be a nod to his level as a prospect and his ceiling.

Might it be a touch demoralizing to get demoted just as he's seemingly been pulling things together lately?

I have a lot of free time.

Who knew Matt Loosen drew such a following?

Everyone's a trade chip right now but unless someone better than Ian Stewart shows up The Vitters has a better chance of sticking around. Stewart is not a real long term option, BABIP hell or not. He's not really a good player.

I sincerely doubt anyone here needed to be told that.

Holy [expletive] I get it...I'm not a popular poster. Tears have been shed over this already. I doubt my situation is dramatically different from most because..we are posting on a message board.

With good defense and a decent bat, he's a good player to have 'in the mix' while he's cheap, but not necessarily anchoring 3rd base indefinitely. However, with Lahair and Rizzo, it's not like there's a ton of playing time to go around at the corner infield positions, so the roster will probably have to be shuffled unless Lahair shows he can be a competent outfielder.

At this point, I think Stewart is a better big leaguer than Vitters ever will be (and this coming from someone who tends to support Vitters more than most on here, though nowhere near as much as someone like Tim).
