Wait, we sent Beliveau down and Scott Maine is going to make the bullpen? What?

I have my doubts that Maine is making it. Sveum in a quote recently when talking about how many left-handers will make it only mentioned Russell as throwing the ball well, and downplayed the necessity of specifically having left-handed relievers at all.

i'm generally not in favor of using spring training stats for deciding the roster, but beliveau wasn't throwing strikes. this has been an issue for him in the past, and if it's cropping up again i'd rather see him down in the minors where he can work it out without as much pressure.

He didn't walk anyone in 2 of his 4 outings. I don't think that's enough to label him as having fundamental issues with his control, especially when the alternative is the awful Scott Maine(7 BB in 7.2 spring IP himself).

I'm sure they'll have another lefty in the pen. I'd prefer Beliveau, but if they don't want to start his clock, they won't. May as well give Maine a look and if he sucks, bring up Coleman. I just don't want it to be T. Wood.

Please look carefully at this page and let me know what you think about Coleman being another lefty in the pen.
