I'm kinda surprised one of these hasn't popped up yet. How else are we supposed to humblebrag?

Yahoo! 12 team head to head league. Auction format, $226 budget. Players can be kept at their previous year salary +$5

Hitting: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, Util. Categories are R, HR, RBI, SB, and AVG.

Pitching: SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, P. Maximum of 7 starts per week. Categories are W, SO, SV, ERA, and WHIP.

[This is year two of my league: I was keeping Gordon, Bautista, Jennings, Price, Sanchez, and Trout, I also had a bit more than the normal budget due to a couple offseason trades]

C - Brian McCann ($15)

1B - Albert Pujols ($50)

2B - Jose Altuve ($1)

3B - Evan Longoria ($39)

SS - Dee Gordon ($5)

LF - Matt Holliday ($32)

CF - Desmond Jennings ($5)

RF - Jose Bautista ($26)

Util - BJ Upton ($14)

SP - David Price ($20)

SP - Mat Latos ($14)

SP - Max Scherzer ($7)

SP - Anibal Sanchez ($5)

RP - Huston Street ($1)

P - Kenley Jansen ($1)

BN - Chris Sale ($1)

BN - Jhoulys Chacin ($1)

BN - Ted Lilly ($1)

BN - J.D. Martinez ($1)

BN - Mike Trout ($6)

I think my pitching is a little on the weak side, but it should be competitive. And I friggin love my offense, even if I do have a few too many steals.

Good team. Probably have the most power in the league, but also have plenty of speed too. Should probably win 3-4 of the offensive categories every week if your team is healthy. Pitching wise, you got a good chance to win Ks every week.

I might as well do this too. This is a 14-team keeper league (2nd year) with an auction format, $260 budget. We could keep up to 7 players (1 for 3 years, 2 for 2 years and 4 for 1 year) at their existing salary. I opted not to use my 3-year keeper, passing on Albert Pujols at $43 because my team was bad last year (lots of holes to fill) and I'm not sure I buy that he'll be as good in the coming years. He ended up being taken for $49 in this year's draft, though his value may have been somewhat inflated since he was easily the best unkept player.

C - Miguel Montero ($4, 1-year keeper)

1B - Eric Hosmer ($23)

2B - Rickie Weeks ($18)

3B - Pedro Alvarez ($4)

SS - Yunel Escobar ($5)

OF - Jayson Werth ($10) - I had Werth for $26 last year and it turned out to be a disaster but I was happy to take him back for 10 in hopes of a turnaround.

OF - Matt Joyce ($9)

OF - Desmond Jennings ($17)

Util - Freddie Freeman ($14)

Util - Jesus Montero ($9)

Bench - Alejandro de Aza ($4)

Bench - Salvador Perez ($2)

Bench - Ian Stewart ($1)

Bench - Todd Helton ($1)

Bench - Mike Carp ($1)

SP - Tim Lincecum ($30, 2-year keeper)

SP - CC Sabathia ($25, 2-year keeper)

SP - Mat Latos ($14)

SP - Dan Haren ($26)

SP - Wandy Rodriguez ($8)

RP - Brandon League ($1, 1-year keeper)

RP - Frank Francisco ($1, 1-year keeper)

Bench - Jordan Zimmermann ($1, 1-year keeper)

Bench - Vance Worley ($9)

Bench - Tommy Hanson ($12)

Bench - Jair Jurrjens ($10)

I'm still not sure how I ended up with so much pitching. I just kept seeing value in the ones available so I kept taking them.

What am I missing?

10-team, H2H, standard ESPN Auction ($260), decided to do this at the last minute. Pretty happy overall, though it's easy to mess with autodrafts in these auction leagues. Belt is probably the first one to go if he doesn't get a starting role.

I'm in a rotisserie points league for the first time ever. I didn't know it was a rotisserie points league. I'm not a fan of it. I prefer H2H. That being said, it was $50 buy in with folks I know and we did a live in person draft so it was a lot of fun. It is a keeper league, where we keep 2 players with set rules (that basically make the first two rounds of draft picks unkeepable). I had the 2nd pick in the draft, here's how I picked (numbers next are the overal rankings on ESPN)...

4 Troy Tulowitzki, Col SS

21 Giancarlo Stanton, Mia OF

28 Carlos Santana, Cle C

45 Zack Greinke, Mil SP

52 Brandon Phillips, Cin 2B

69 C.J. Wilson, LAA SP

76 Madison Bumgarner, SF SP

93 Freddie Freeman, Atl 1B

100 Yu Darvish, Tex SP

117 Martin Prado, Atl 3B

124 Chris Young, Ari OF

141 Dexter Fowler, Col OF

148 Brandon McCarthy, Oak SP

165 Brandon League, Sea RP

172 Sean Marshall, Cin RP

189 Kendrys Morales, LAA 1B

196 Bud Norris, Hou SP

213 Jonathan Broxton, KC RP

220 Lorenzo Cain, KC OF

237 Derek Holland, Tex SP

244 Ike Davis, NYM 1B

261 Jason Kipnis, Cle 2B

268 Devin Mesoraco, Cin C

285 Drew Pomeranz, Col SP

Things of note...

1) One guy said my choice of Carlos Santana in the 3rd round was the dumbest pick he's ever heard of because, and I quote, "He can't hit above .240". Yes, a catcher who draws nearly 100 walks and hits nearly 30 home runs and has the potential for 80+ RBI is a TERRIBLE 3rd round pick... because he didn't hit above .240 in his first full year in the majors. Nevermind the .263 BABIP and all.

2) I was chastised for taking Bud Norris "strictly for K's". Nevermind the fact that he's actually a decent pitcher. To which they responded "He's not going to get any wins on that Astros team". It's like they don't realize there are multiple categories.

3) They called my 9th round pick of Yu Darvish "a reach"

4) Also "Pomeranz with your last pick? Really?!?!". Yeah, really, guy who drafted Mike Trout with your 20th pick when guys like Mike Moustakas, Mike Minor, Trevor Cahill, Edwin Jackson, Chad Billingsley, and Ike Davis were still available... and then dropped him as soon as the season started.

Posted

Also, this is the same guy ("Pomeranz!?!?" guy) who dropped Neftali Feliz before he even made a start in favor of Felix Dubront.

And he's also made 21 transactions... we're 5 damn days into the season. He's "that guy". The one who adds and drops and adds and drops in an effort to snake is way into stat padding.

That [expletive] infuriates me.
