Sori would be a strong DH in the NL East I would think for little money teams would be interested in his production versus certain pitchers:

Vs Sabathia

PA AB H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS SH SF IBB HBP GDP missG

46 39 13 2 0 6 10 6 9 .333 .435 .846 1.281 0 0 1 1 0

Jon Lester

6 6 3 0 0 0 1 0 3 .500 .500 .500 1.000 0 0 0 0 0

Tim Wakefield

50 44 13 2 0 4 7 4 6 .295 .360 .614 .974 0 1 0 1 0

He does hit fastballs well, hits lefties pretty well and with Price, Lester, Sabathia, Romero, Chen headlining rotations along with pitchers who throw large percentages of fastballs like Pineda, Morrow, guthrie... etc. Soriano if matched up correctly could do some damage in the AL East.

The Yankees already have Andruw Jones, who is better than Soriano at everything the Yankees might want Soriano to do.

It's not a fit.
