Anyone know if Rose is playing tomorrow? I got last minute tickets.

Yeah he will. He could've played against the knicks but they were being cautious.

Man Bill Simmons is such a homer.

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7801091/the-rebirth-celtics

In this column, he calls Avery Bradley one of the 5 best perimeter defenders in the NBA (he's pretty damn good but come on) and pretty much thinks its a lock that Doc Rivers will win COY, and then at the end suggests that the Celtics are this year's 1999 Knicks. I mean come on, what the Celtics have done the last 2 weeks is surprising and impressive but how about you try losing the MVP of the league for 40% of the season and still have the best record in the NBA. Doc should maybe get coach of the month for March, but coach of the year when this team was toiling at .500 most of the year?

lol I keep finding more funny as I read this. He just called last night's win over Miami one of the single most meaningful wins of the KG/Pierce/Allen era.

Yeah, he's been on the Rivers for COY thing for a while. I posted it somewhere, and it's just silly, especially with how badly the team played for the first half of the season.

The Miami Heat blogger at SBnation doesn't understand how the standings work.

The Bulls hold a 3-game lead over Miami in the standings, but the Heat have 10 games left on their schedule while Chicago only has 8.

So a win tonight, and wins in those two games at hand, and suddenly the Bulls and Heat are tied on top of the Eastern Conference.

He also thinks the victory vaults the Celtics into the title discussion, which is just plain absurd.

If he'd never talk about Boston, I like hearing him talk about the NBA. Too bad Boston is one of the most successful franchises in the league's history and are in a big market so they are tough to avoid even if he wasn't a big time fan.

Haha, that's pretty sad.

Calling it one of their biggest wins when they've [expletive] won the title is lunacy.

Hyping Rivers for COY might be even crazier. It's clearly Thibodeau or Pop. If you want to go off the board look at Vogel, Hollins, or Corbin.

He's not really off-base on Bradley though.

Can anyone recommend a bar near the United Center? I've always been in and out when I've gone in the past, but I'm going to be down a few hours early today.

What type of crowd are you looking for?

I'm not picky, I would prefer to avoid 'chain' bars though. Something local, but not so local that the music stops when a stranger walks in.

Third Rail. On Madison just east of Racine. I don't think they have shuttle service but there's a bar across the street, Crossroads that does. I don't know how much they pay attention, but I'd imagine you could finagle your way on to that. It's only a 20 minute walk or so.

Look away cubbievirus. I'm gonna post a Barkley quote....

Charles Barkley told a Chicago radio station on Wednesday: "I think the Bulls have a really good chance against the Heat [in the playoffs]. I think the Bulls are better. I think LeBron James has to play at a Michael Jordan-type level every night because that team has so many holes on it. James is the best player in the NBA. if he doesn't play at a crazy level and make those guys better - Mario Chalmers, Joel Anthony, Udonis Haslem- if he doesn't get those guys off, they can't win. Chris Bosh hasn't had a double double in like two months. They're clearly not a good rebounding team. Their bench isn't very good.

It's funny because it really is that easy to chart.

Also, while Rose doesn't have that many turnovers, so many terrible passes that should have been.

I just started watching has Rose been attacking at all?

Nope just settling for jumpers that are way short. Has no speed and the offense looks out of sync when he is in the game. The Bulls took the lead when Watson was on and lost it when Rose was subbed in.
