Hey guess what...an Oakland Raider got arrested!

The picture of him getting arrested is classic.

He should be done for awhile.

i know different states punish crazy gunnyness differently and that people in the deep south often allow that nonsense to go unpunished because they can barely be considered human beings, but that deserves at least double the sentence that plaxico got.

How the hell is there not at least 1 felony in all that?

In Miss. we likely would have charged him with felony Simple Assault which is putting another person in fear of imminent serious bodily harm.

fwiw, I just looked up misdemeanor Third Degree Assault in Bama and what he did doesn't fit this statute:

(a) A person commits the crime of assault in the third degree if:

(1) With intent to cause physical injury to another person, he causes physical injury to any person; or

(2) He recklessly causes physical injury to another person; or

(3) With criminal negligence he causes physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument; or

(4) With intent to prevent a peace officer from performing a lawful duty, he causes physical injury to any person.

Pretty weird, none of the assault statutes in Alabama include scaring the isht out of someone. So what he did doesn't fit into any of the statutes there.

did anybody talk about how much time Andy Reid wasted in last night's game? He was down 17 points late in the third. He needed three scores either way and didn't have a lot of time to get them*. I think he should have settled for a FG to end the third quarter, then go into the 4th with all the time and down 2 TD. Instead he goes for it on 4th and 1 starting the 4th quarter, takes three more plays and 2 more minutes, to finally score, and the end result was he still needed 2 scores. But he had less than 13 minutes to get them. Philly didn't get the ball back again until less than 8 minutes remained, still needing 2 scores. When you are down that big, nearly 3 minutes of time is not worth the extra 4 points. Their defense sucked, and there was no guarantee of stopping them, but after already taken off 8 minutes at the end of the 3rd you at least had a fresh defense ready to go back out there. I think kicking the FG right there gives you a lot more leeway with the remaining time. You could have gotten the ball back again with more than 12 minutes to go in the 4th and down by 14, instead of getting it back with less than 8 minutes and down by 10.

*As a side note, the broadcaster said something to the effect of "a field goal doesn't do anything for you here". Um, yes it does, if you are down by 17 points you need 2 TD and FG to tie, a FG absolutely helps you there. It's not like Seattle's offense went back out and scored, it was Philly's crappy QB who gave them their next and last TD.

well, if the south won't punish him, he's probably going to get an indefinite suspension by goodell. he's going to make an example out of him.

but i imagine if he fired a gun next to someone's ear they'd have to at least have a ruptured eardrum, which would constitute bodily injury.

nobody cares about Andy Reid

I started watching right after DVRing through the thursday night shows, and I was mostly annoyed at the announcer for saying a FG does you no good there, when it absolutely could have done them some good.
