I watched some yesterday and some of the 5a game today. I knew some kids playing in the 1A game(friends of mine from another towns nephew). I wish these games were on weekends that I wasn't kind of busy, I would like to attend them.

The Indiana State finals were on ESPN3, and I watched my high school's biggest rival play (and lose). 3 schools from South Bend area went to states. My highschool is now closed, but SB Washington was the other closest school to me and I conceivably could have been on that team if I was still in high school. They have a 6-3, 6-4 WR who is going to Notre Dame who had over 2,000 yards receiving. My school didn't throw for 2000 combined the 4 years I was there total. St. Joseph HS has a coach that I played against in HS that won state with the school in 1995. Penn HS was also in my school's conference and one of the guys I played HS football with has a son that is the team's leading RB. I feel old.

We are still three weeks away from the state championships in Texas. But should Aledo make it for a 3rd straight year, Johnathon Gray will have a shot at the all time National Record in rushing yards and points.

The three SB area teams in Indiana all got smacked around, with my alma mater, Penn, capping it all off with a 54-0 annihilation at the hands of Carmel. Penn has lost their last two state trips by a score of 101-7 (and the 7 was a garbage-time score). Seems like they should just award the title to whoever comes out of the Indianapolis area.
