yeah, i hope he's with boise at least for the hawks' trip to everett. would love to see him and candelario. and amaya and hernandez. and almora. and dunston and martin. maybe even vogelbach. such an exciting team already, and with the possibility of adding two of the top 3 players in the system (assuming almora signs).

I can't imagine Almora ends up in Boise until the AZL season is over.

I wouldn't be shocked if they take it slow with Soler and keep him in Mesa too.

I hope not with Soler. Obviously, I want them to take whatever time he needs, but I hate to think that:

A) He'll be pushed up an extra level going from Arizona to Peoria

B) He'll be 21 all next year in Peoria, which isn't old for the league at all, but by my count 9 of the top 10 prospects in the MWL last year were 20 or younger (Szczur being the exception). I'd like to think that a legitimate top 25-50 prospect (that is not directly out of high school) can handle the NWL.

I'm counting this season as a complete mulligan for Soler. Get him acclimated as much as possible basically. If he doesn't leave Arizona or Boise this year, I'm OK with it. That said, I kind of expect him to start next season in Daytona. Warmer, early season weather, plus his age will kind of merit it as well. Hopefully, Concepcion and Balaguert will be there with him. But I'm confident in the FO, to give him all the support he'll need.

I'm fine if he doesn't leave Boise this year. But I'll be disappointed if he doesn't leave Mesa. I'm even OK with Peoria next year for a full season, but I agree with you Daytona would make the most sense for the reasons you stated. But Mesa to Daytona is not a realistic jump for anyone to have to make.

i'd be shocked if they felt he was ready for daytona that soon.

Raw and davell are referring to a jump to Daytona in 2013. I could definitely see him there next year.

I thought he'd start the season at Peoria but Mesa probably makes the most sense.

Every prospect starts in Mesa. Even a savvy college vet drafted out of the U.S. will, just to get acclimated with the organization. This is definitely not a surprise.

Those were posted elsewhere a few days ago, but yeah, it's great to see him in photos. Can't wait to see video to see if he's as athletic as his body type would imply.

Damn, I'm sorry. Didn't see them. Feel free to delete the post then if you'd like, otherwise I'll remove it. I just ran across it and got pretty damn excited seeing those.
