This has to be the worst defense an 8-0 team has ever had. I'll happily take the win, but I have no idea what happened to our defense from last year.

The Colts have had some below average ones over the years.

I was going to say this years Packers team reminds me a lot of the mid/late 2000's Colts teams. Superstar QB with receiving weapons all over the place that makes the game look easy, a running game that is adequate but not great, and below average defense that has some playmakers, but if they can hold opponents to 30 points or less have a great chance of winning.

Losing your all world safety certainly doesn't help. Matthews is not at 100 percent and I think they miss Cullen Jenkins more then they thought. I also believe they really take their foot off the gas at times. They did it last year against the Bears in the NFC Title game. They did it against the Saints. They did it against the Vikings 2 weeks ago and they did it today. They were up 45-24 with 10 min left. Is this defense as good as last year? No, not even close. But when your QB is playing at another level your defense doesn't have to be elite like it was last year. Also, Capers has always had more success in the 2nd half of the season compared to the 1st half. Am I worried about it? Yes. Am I panicking yet? No.

Yep, that about sums it up. Hopefully getting Mike Neal back in a few weeks improves our pass rush somewhat.

Fortunately (for them), the only game this year they actually needed the defense to step up, they did.

i think it's kind of [expletive] to say something like they "took their foot off the gas" in NFC title game. by that token i could say that the bears defense simply didn't come to play in the first quarter, but dominated rodgers and the offense the rest of the game.

Who would have thought that a Jason Campbell injury would torpedo our season?

The defense is still terrible - which I was worried about coming into the year - but the offense isn't good enough to make up for it.

The other 3 1st place teams in your division lost too. Don't worry about it this week.

They got annihilated at home by KC and lost at home to Denver. This team isn't making the playoffs. They still have to play the entire NFC North, which is 1-3 at best (splitting the Chi and Min games) and have two against SD plus at KC. They'll finish 6-10.

I should of rephrased that. I am saying when BJ Raji had his pick 6, I think everyone thought the game was over including the defense. And the Bears did have it's way with the Packers offense the rest of the game. It was not an insult to the Bears at all.

Play calls for the Steelers: 18 passes, 6 rushes. How come I didn't hear about Martz joining Pittsburgh?

i think a lot of it was that the bears wasted nearly the entire 3rd quarter by playing collins, and when a guy with a pulse stepped in there, there was some shock that the QB could actually complete a pass.

I could easily see someone getting the Packers in the playoffs if the defense doesn't improve. This is pretty awful.

Oh, absolutely. All it takes is the offense to be out of sync one game in the playoffs and we're done if the D doesn't get it together.

We will NOT win the Super Bowl this year with the D being this bad. It just won't happen. It has to improve significantly if we're going to repeat.

Packers pass defense is really worrying me. I just hope it's one of those "bend but don't break" type defenses, that hunker down when the score is close but occasionally loses focus when the score is not.

I dunno, the Packers have won 14 games in a row including the playoffs. And in those 14 games, Rodgers has had a +111 QB rating 12 times. The 3 lowest QB ratings in that span all came against the Bears (55.4 - NFC title game, 89.7 - Week 17, 111.4 - Week 3 this year). So as long as you avoid the Bears in the playoffs, I'd say it's likely the offense does not get out of sync for any playoff game.

Wow, what a terrible drop.

And he just made up for it by catching the TD.

LOL at the ref saying that it's a first down instead of the TD.

If the Bears get that 6th seed we'd be on a collision course again.
