A better question... does any team have a better setup when you consider the combination of front office/resources/divisional resource-disparity?

Resources should only get better as they find more revenue streams.

The Mets actually have a good front office now with Alderson, DePodesta and Ricciardi.

Yeah, if those guys are still together once the Mets have money again and a less horrible owner they could be monstrous.

We may have the best, but at the absolute least, we're in the discussion. Considering we were possibly bottom third this time last year, it's a pretty damn pleasing and shocking turn of events.

Mets have a pretty amazing group with Alderson, DePodesta, and Riccairdi.

Yankees have Cashman, Newman, Oppenheimer.

The Indians have Shapiro, Antonelli, and Chernoff.

Rangers have Ryan, Daniels, and Levine.

Dombrowski, Reid, Avila in Detroit.

Seattle has Zduriencik, McNamara, and and Kingston.

Schuerholz, Wren, and Coppolella in Atlanta.

Etc...Beane, Fuson, Forst....Hunsicker, Friedman, whoeverthirdguyis....

Plus, doesn't most everyone else in the FO suck or something like that? I think the owner is the trump card. Tom is putting money and work into this whole owning the Cubs project.

And somehow Rosenbloom will spin this into Ricketts being a starry-eyed neophyte fumbling around in naivete.

Really, any people who have trashed on Tom Ricketts for not doing enough are due to eat a titanic helping of crow. Can you imagine now if he had canned Jimbo months ago (like many wanted) and hired whoever was available?

We sure wouldn't have the top three FO we're looking at now.

Why in the holy blue [expletive] should I be impressed with Seattle's FO?

Seriously, I have no idea. They must be new, right?

Jack Z. was a rising star a couple years ago, but he has largely fizzled in Seattle.

Mike Murphy even trumped Rosenbloom last Saturday. I had the misfortune of hearing him rant how the hold up at the time was just yet another in a "long line of failures courtesy of Tom Ricketts. He then went on a rampage insisting that the "right way" to have handled this would have been for Ricketts to go to the Red Sox, ask for permission to talk to Theo, then offer them compensation and get them to agree to it...BEFORE HE EVEN TALKS TO EPSTEIN.

That's an understatement.

Yeah they're new/young.

Lots of good power pitching coming out of Seattle with Felix, Pineda, Paxton, and Hultzen. Plus they've got Ackley and that 1B who didn't do so well this year but is a good future talent (Smoak). They've also put together good defenses, but they can't score runs.
