honestly I would think that Hawks fans would be cheering for the Canucks. I would think you would have much rather faced them than the Preds in round 2 if you make it.

 

Worry about that if we ever get to that point. I'd rather watch the Canucks fail hilariously than have a slightly better chance of getting to the WCF.

 

Yeah it's just too much fun to watch them lose. Especially as a 1 seed, and only taking 1 game.

Hold on, I'm not in favor of taking on that contract, but he's way better than Crawford. This year, for GAA Luongo was 16th and Crow was 32nd. For save %, 12th and 35th. 35th!!!

 

As I said, there's no way I'm taking on that kind of contract for a middle of the road keeper. But all other things aside, he would be a clear improvement over Crawford.

He got benched because Schneider is probably already an elite goalie and likely their goalie of the future. Luongo doesn't have to be better than that to still be good. Luongo has all kinds of flaws in terms of personality and mental game, but he's a very talented goalie.

 

That said, there's 0% chance he ends up in Chicago whether they want him or not. Just not going to happen. My feeling is that Tampa or Florida are infinitely more likely.

pretty happy that the flyers definitely avoid the rangers next round, with the caps knocking out the bruins (flyers lost all 5 games with the rangers this season)

My money is on TB...maybe Toronto if he's actually willing to go there. Florida has Markstrom coming up, and while they could use a serviceable NHL guy to lessen the strain on the kid, it's probably too much commitment to bring in Luongo. If he does get significantly worse, they are absolutely stuck with him on the roster while they have Markstrom, in an ideal world, improving and demanding a higher salary. I don't see it happening, too much risk.

 

Tampa has no reason not to do it as far as I can tell.

This Blues series reminds me a lot of the Hawks series. Facing a dominant goalie. Chip on their shoulder because of dirty hits. But can't score.
