Watching yet another performance like this again made me wonder: How in the world can a team like ours not be interested in basically trading any of our players? I understand the whole "well, who do you replace so and so with next year?" thinking, but it just seems embarrassing that we don't really want to move anybody considering how bad our team is.

I can handle how bad we are it happens. I can't stand Hendry acting like we are one player away. We are the 29th best team in baseball with a poor farm system.

Have I mentioned that the bullpen is a dumpster fire?

Any time Samardzija pitches is an adventure. Whenever he's on the mound, he's either perfect or walking everyone on the other team.

I would like to recant my several previous complaints about Fox baseball not allowing me to watch the Cubs. I appreciate the work they've done in keeping this debacle off my tv screen.

I just love how we can hear a Cardinal fan on either this channel or MLB network get their jollys off on us being bad. It's awesome.

what a [expletive] slide.

Late as hell. He was already on top of the bag

Also wasn't within reach of the bag. And he went in with spikes high.

I can't believe nobody hbp'd him later in the game.

Quade probably thought it was good for Castro to get some intensity and see how a team plays the game the way it's supposed to be played.

The "best fans in baseball" sitting next to me were cheering that like crazy. Then they said that's what Castro gets for forcing Theriot (the better player) to move to 2nd. An every time Descalso(sp?) made a play at SS they cheered and bragged about how much better Theriot is than Castro.

A Cubs fan sitting nearby had to inform the "best fans in baseball" that Theriot had been moved to 2nd because he sucks at SS and that they were cheering the wrong player.

Judging by Twitter, Holliday should probably have been HBP repeatedly for that slide. Is that correct?

Yeah, I have to go work my second job so I can pay my bills this month. Poor baby has to go to a baseball game.

I FIGHT YOU FACE.

I apologize for spending 3 years after HS busting my ass to save up money to go to college, then working 40-60 hours/ week at 3 different jobs while in college AND working an unpaid internship that eventually lead to me getting hired on full-time.

Wait, nevermind. I don't apologize.

Yes. It was late, high and not even a close play. Everytime they showed a replay, everyone cheered.

Well then, it's a shame no one hit Holliday. I hope someone does tomorrow.

Is Carpenter up? If not, trade Grabow (do that anyways) call Carpenter up an have him drill Holliday.

This game is another nationally televised nail in Hendry and Quade's coffins. They are making it virtually impossible for Ricketts to come up with a spin on justifying bringing them back next year that wouldn't lead to an almost certain huge ticket sale drop for 2012.

This is pretty much the low point in the season, isn't it?

I was thinking the same thing. The F'er tried to take out Castro too

Enjoyed the gratuitous Lou Brock mention from Joe Buck, and like all the other mentions of Brock it completely ignored the fact that he was a hot steaming pile of garbage in a Cub uniform.

Oh, and Buck also floated Marmol as a trade candidate for other teams, evidently ignoring that he was signed to an expensive 3 year deal five months ago.

Got to love the fact that to this day people harp on the fact that The Cubs let go of Brock for nothing, but dont mention the fact that about 15 years later they acquired the best 2B of a generation as a throw in.
