Has he been piggybacking or is the 4 GS wrong?

And those are some interesting reverse R/L splits on the BA against.

Yeah, he was piggybacking for a good chunk of the season.

To me I think Jokisch has pitched really well this with the exception of a few outings and has been a somewhat suprise from last years draft. But i know he doesnt get any respect on here becuase most have writen him off as an A ball ceiling guy.

Seriously, what is with these types of posts the last few days? His WHP is still pretty high, but he's managed to significantly decrease his walks. Even so, his K/9 is fairly low. He's having a nice stretch, but so far the peripherals are nothing all that exciting.

I'm not sure what he's done is surprising. He's pitching as well as you'd expect a college arm with good command to do at A-ball and while he was an 11th rounder, he got a $125,000 bonus (off the top of my head, I'd say that's 7th-8th round money).

Regarding writing him off as a guy with an A-ball ceiling, he's doing well at this level but he should given his experience. His stuff profiles as that of a player who will probably struggle at AA so I'm taking a wait-and-see approach despite his Peoria success, waiting till he faces more advanced competition.

A 1.20 WHIP is pretty high?

Peralta was throwing 91-93 last night, had what I think was a good slider at 83-85 and another slower breaking pitch around 77-80.

Thanks! Do you know how accurate the gun is?

Peralta's repertoire is a FB, slider and change so that might be what you saw coming in 77-80

Whoops, Rhee got the start in game one and got the 7-inning CG.

7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 1 HBP, 9-4 GO-FO

He surrendered 1 run in each of the 6th and 7th.

Logan Watkins now has the 3rd highest BA in Daytona's starting lineup at .283, behind only Crawford (.323) and Bour (.288).

It's nice to see Rhee putting together good outings more and more consistently. If he was able to return to his previous status that would be a nice boost for the farm.

some guys come back from TJS really easily, but a lot of other guys it takes a year where they are still strengthening their arm. it's also common to not locate as well in the comeback year, and based on rhee's walk rate and how hittable he was last year, would seem to be the case. plus he tired a lot before they shut him down.

anyway i was very high on him before the injury, so hopefully he's making it back to become a legitimate prospect again.

Logan Watkins is on some kind of tear. Wasn't he right up there with Hak Ju Lee at one point?

BA had him as the #7 prospect in the Cubs' system following the 2009 season. They were much, much higher on him than anyone else, though.

dsl cubs 1 allowed 12 walks and made 8 errors =D>

given some of the players who have moved over to dsl cubs 2, it looks like they're making that the good team and letting dsl cubs 1 turn into a joke. they seem to do this a lot... i remember last year or 2 years ago dsl cubs 2 was easily the worst team in the league while dsl cubs 1 were really good.

From what I was told they had some issues with it earlier this year, but it worked just fine this weekend.

you'll never guess who gave up 4 hits, 2 walks and 3 runs in the first inning for the azl cubs :x

His second inning was an improvement, though.

Baby steps.

How long until Dustin Geiger is moved up to Boise? He is hitting .390 with an OPS over 1.000.

BA had him and Beeler as sleepers from last years draft...looks like they called that one.

The I-Cubs' twitter feed just posted that Brett Jackson and Ryan Flaherty have been promoted to Iowa.

Augie Ojeda reportedly has been released.

I just posted this in it's own thread (I didn't see any info on it here yet). I believe it deserves one, but if not--ditch it and discuss this news here. Thanks.
