Peoria at Wisconsin 7:05 PM

FYI, this game is at Miller Park in Milwaukee.

In his last AB with a runner at 2nd, Vitters swings at the first pitch and hits a weak grounder.

That, and his inability to walk pretty much sums up Vitters career thus far. #-o

brooks raley has been less terrible recently. still don't like the low K rate, but if he keeps his walks down maybe he can be a back of the rotation guy.

daytona are getting crushed... wallach was terrible. justin bour has two errors to give him 10, which seems like a lot for a first baseman.

Raley's last 6 starts:

37.1 IP, 34 H, 17 R, 9 ER, 1 HR, 8 BB, 20 K

Not saying I'm excited about him, but for a guy I had pretty much completely written off he's got some encouraging signs. Very nice control shown by him lately (both with the walks and the lack of HR). For a guy who's basically in his second pro season and is still not too old for AA, he's still got some potential. He still needs to increase his strikeouts to be anything more than a guy who could be a marginally ok major leaguer though.

This is the second straight year Raley has started very slow and come on as the summer progressed (though he's turned it on much earlier this season). But I agree with Truffle and CCP; he's got to improve that strikeout rate.

Geez. Jin-Young Kim off to a wretched start here in the 1st - IF single, line drive single to the OF and then 3 straight walks.

ETA: Then, he gets a K and a 6-4-3 DP just like that. 1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 3 BB, tons of pitches though. His velocity was all over the place in that inning - 86 - 91.

Kim apparently taken out after his one inning. Sick? INjured? Discipline?

I've kind of suspected he wasn't really healthy for some time. Phil reported some arm problems last year, and I haven't gotten the impression that he's thrown with the arm that the Cubs liked enough to spend a million on.

Koreans who have had arm problems, usually including surgery: Lee (TJ), Dong, Rhee, Jung.

No problems: little Na.

Didn't Ha have some arm trouble, back when they had him catching?

If Kim has arm problem, it would seem to be the Korean normal, rather than anything surprising.

Per the PBP guy, he was pulled due to the high pitch count in his 1 inning of work. He was nearly pulled in the 1st itself.

I don't ever remember Jae-Hoon Ha having injury problems.

Rhee - TJS

Lee - TJS

Jung - multiple shoulder problems but no surgery

Kim - shoulder surgery

Pin-Chieh Chen was pulled for..."manager's decision" according to the Boise PBP guy. No further explanation given. That ends his 10-game hitting streak too.

in the top of the third he grounded out to first, pitcher covering. then he was subbed out in the bottom of the inning. so either he got hurt on a close play at first, or he was loafing and the manager got pissed off.

nice game from golden.... 3-3 with a double, walk and an outfield assist.

The strikeouts are a bit concerning, but he's off to a great start. When was the last time a high school hitter drafted by the Cubs had seven walks in his first 12 games?
