Depressing from top to bottom.

Blow it all up. This owner, manager, and GM sucks to high heaven.

Remember when Hendry blew the team up after they last made the playoffs?

No, humor us. Break down why "the owner sucks." I'll bet good money that it'll be about trips to Africa, bathrooms and not throwing a tantrum over the team to the press.

Oh, and let's talk about how Hendry "blew up" the 2008 team. If only those titans of baseball DeRosa and Edmonds had been there in 2009!

The Cubs didn't exactly blow up the team after the last playoff year. 6 of the 8 position players started both years. 4 of the 5 starting pitchers were the same and 2 of the top 4 bullpen arms. That's pretty good stability.

And of the players they lost, one of the position players had a poor year the next year while the other one didn't even play in MLB that year. The starter was pretty good for his new team (but replaced with someone even better) and the setup guy was good for his new team but the closer was not. If the Cubs had kept everybody they still would have struggled.

Putting money into the Minor Leagues tells me that he is the opposite of bad.

I mean, sure, the Ricketts could turn out be awful, and likely nobody here is going to disagree that Hendry should have been fired after last season, but even if that had occurred who really thinks this season would be that much different, if at all? Like it or not the Ricketts inherited a situation that effectively had to be sat out for at least the first two years of their ownership. This coming offseason is going to be the first real "trial by fire" where I think broad statements about whether they "suck" or not will start being a little more realistic. It all comes down to whether or not they overhaul the FO and how much/how well money is spent.

Let's take this thread in a better direction before its ultimately locked as soon as the mods finish breakfast. I always though that Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite was a great, underrated Beatles song. At least as far as the psychadelic era goes. For the early songs, I'm Looking Through You is a great song that never got as much play as many of their others.

I am totally on board with the "I'm Looking Through You" love. So underrated.

Speaking of whom, "Let It Roll" has recently become one of my all time favorites.

Cant forget the pedophiles anthem, She was Just 17, which I believe is the 1st song off their 1st album. Sadly, Tiffany stole it in the 80's and ruined it for a generation.

You mean "I Saw Her Standing There"?
