The Thunder Rolls should've been on the list, but Garth only plays the third verse in concert...

She runs back down the hallway and through the bedroom door

She reaches for the pistol kept in the dresser drawer

Tells the lady in the mirror 'he won't do this again'

'Cause tonight will be the last time, she'll wonder where he's been

I'd like to think that video is the moment where Garth Brooks went insane and decided he wasn't just a shlumpy guy playing bad pop country that everyone love...no, he was an AC-TOR and he would play characters and CHRIS GAINES WOULD CHANGE THE WORRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLD!!!

Chris Gaines was obviously a horrible idea...but it was more because the tv movie it was supposed to go with never happened.

I'm far, far from a country fan, and my music tastes don't match up with most of those in the music thread, but I'd still go see Garth in a minute. Saw him one other time, and it was a quite entertaining show.

Surprised theres been no mention of Tupac's "Hit 'em Up".

Dude was bragging about [expletive] Faith Evans, not killing her.

Yeah, I guess. He did bring Faith and Kim into it though, and went on to say 'if you are down with Bad Boy .... [expletive] you, die slow [expletive] my 4-4 make sure all ya'll kids don't grow'.

So while I'd consider that threats of man on woman violence, you might not.

The point is the topic of Hit 'Em Up isn't about domestic violence. There may be a point where you might be able to consider a sliver of it referring to domestic violence but songs like "Run for your life" are primarily focused on violent behavior towards women.

If you want to submit Hit Em Up as an example of derranged violent behavior towards another person, it shoots right up to the top of the list.

Both eyes are closed

Points at the paper

Finger lands right on A Miles

All the silly signings, where do they all come from?

All the silly signing, where do they all belong?

Owner Tom Ricketts

Signing a manager who saves him some cash

Quade is here

Here comes the intro

Hendry is grinning, Quade said "This is a dream come true"

What a nightmare

All the silly signings, where do they all come from?

All the silly signing, where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the silly signings

Ah, look at all the silly signings

GM Jim Hendry

Wanted to pay for big bat for left field

GM Jim Hendry

Opened the wallet and said how bout 8 years?

136 million wasted

All the silly signings, where do they all come from?

All the silly signing, where do they all belong?

Honey Hush

well it's hi-ho hi-ho silver, hi-ho hi-ho silver

That song (Honey Hush) was by the Johnny Burnette Trio though I believe that Big Joe Turner recorded it earlier and someone else wrote it. The Beatles even covered it, calling it Hi Ho Silver. Guess it was just a different time back then.
