Wtf has happened to John lackey? I know he's overpaid and all, but now he is just [expletive] awful. I think he has a negative score for the season, which frankly is hard to do.

Adam correctly pointed out in the Roadkill chat room that Deven's minor league roster is illegal. He has Arrieta on his minor league roster, but he has long lost minor league eligibility. He had 18 starts last year, well over the limit. If Deven carried Arrieta on his minor league roster during the offseason that means he would in effect have had 11 keepers for this year.

Ack! That doesn't look good. It's fixed now as Mike Leake has been dropped - I am sorry I missed it.

I haven't worried about my minors roster in a while.

This epic battle may come down to whom I pick as the 7th start. I have to sit either Beckett @ NYY or Lilly v ARZ. Beckett has been solid all season, but leaning towards the Dodger Stadium homefield advantage with Lilly. Similarly, Adam has a tough call on his last start.

I can't recall two teams battling above 150 pts after the first 3 days in a week.

My team has seen a staggering 1729 pts scored against in 5+ weeks. The lowest PA is 400+ fewer.

So, did we decide if a starter gets pushed back and you can't get 7 starts if you can pick someone up to fill your seventh while keeping your roster legal?

i've always thought this was allowed. what i don't like is just picking up starters mid-week to get your 7 starts when there are no injuries and no one is being pushed back or whatever.

Ahh. I don't think you were making that very clear when you were arguing against adding pitchers to get 7 starts. I can agree with you that you shouldn't be able to add a pitcher midweek if your roster already has the ability to field 7 or more starts.

And my argument for may not have been clear, either, but I'm in support of a team being able to field 7 starts for the week, even if it requires that they pick someone up midweek in order to get a 7th start. It's possible that a start that gets cancelled on a Sunday might force someone to not get their 7th start in for the week, but that's part of gambling on a Sunday start happening. Especially if you benched an earlier start in the week knowing you would use a Sunday start.

Is my move ok since I brought someone up from my minor leagues?

I'm not opposed to it.

if someone got pushed back or scratched, i don't see it as a problem.

Adjusted my lineup to make it legal after the trade. Picked up Izturis to play 2nd base as that spot was now open from trading Espinosa.

don't know what to make of that trade...

Neither do I and I accepted it. Short term it helps me a lot, long term it benefits DeShawn. I need more O to make a legit run.

In that case, I like the trade for you a lot.

While Raw has time to actively make trades, is it possible he can make time to send me some money to pay for his team?

Did you seriously not get my check? I sent it weeks ago.

My apologies if you sent it, but I have not received it.

Jon Garland (replacement player) got his start bumped due to rain, therefore I needed to pick someone up to get a 7th start this week. To make room for Kevin Correia (ugh), I kicked Ian Stewart's ass all the way to some curb in Albequerque, moved Jhonny Peralta to 3b and brought the once again healthy Stephen Drew back to my SS position.

I know we are supposed to be a weekly roster change league, but I think I've had to make a freaking roster change everyday this week due to some stupid injury, or trade or loss of start.

Geovany Soto was moved to the DL and Rod Barajas was inserted into the starting line up yesterday for those keeping score at home.

Not that it will necessarily make a difference, but I'm still due to have 3 points added back to wipe out Duensing's relief outing this week since we don't count points earned by a starting pitcher in an unscheduled relief appearance. That policy should be the same regardless of whether the points are positive or negative since it's not intended as a penalty to the manager, since it's an unforeseen situation rather than the manager being negligent.
