Holy crap, we won?!?

Yeah, I had that same reaction. I was following the game on my phone, and then gave up once we were down 8-5. I then checked in again when were were 8-7 just as Barney tied the game, but had to get out of the car when we were tied 8-8 in the 8th with Baker up and my phone was dead. I remember thinking why the [expletive] isnt Pena batting here, but looks like it worked out pretty well.

i'd really like if our we had more guys who could walk and hit for power so that our offensive output could be less strongly dependent on the whims of BABIP. that being said, good job winning this game.

I had to pause this game a few different times and fell well behind real time by the eighth inning. Getting through the rest of the game by that point felt like a formality. Once the bases were juiced for Castro with nobody out, I paused the tv and waited for the gf to get in so we could both watch--not because she was so intent on seeing the game, but because I knew that something good was going to happen and she'd want to see it too. I didn't necessarily think the Cubs would win at that point, I just knew it was about to get interesting. It felt really weird to have such confident expectation of something good to happen and to see it actually come through.

Also, watching Ramirez struggle to keep his legs underneath him as he scored from first was among the more amusing things I've seen on a baseball field.

From Elias: Starlin Castro had four hits and three RBI from the leadoff spot and Darwin Barney chipped in with three hits and three RBI from the second spot in the batting order to lead the Cubs to a 10-8 victory over the Dodgers on Sunday afternoon. It marks the first time in over 50 years that the Cubs starting leadoff and number two hitters both had at least three hits and three RBI in the same game. The last time the Cubs got that production from the top two hitters in their lineup was on August 13, 1959 when leadoff hitter Tony Taylor had three hits and three RBI and second-place hitter George Altman had five hits and five RBI in a 20-9 romp over the Giants.

Another Elias nugget: The Cubs are the first team ever to hit the .500 mark at every stop through the first 20 games (1-1 through 10-10).

That was my second game of the year and the second in which we put up 3+ runs in the 8th to re-take the lead. Awesome game

Clearly, you need to go to more games.
