So is anyone out here? Anyone? Bueller?

[expletive] IT! WE'LL DO IT LIVE!

(Or until whoever should actually be starting wakes up.)

FOR TODAY

Dustin Moseley. I got nuthin. He was a Yankee once so I guess he sucks.

0-3, 1.83 ERA, 19.2 IP, 1.271 WHIP, 4/6 K/BB

VERSUS

Matt Garza. Found this on GIS and have no clue as to why it exists. In memory of Roast who I don't recall ever seeing anymore.

0-2, 6.27 ERA, 18.2 IP, 1.714 WHIP, 25/5 K/BB

What Mike Quade needs to say to leaving pitchers in for too long:

What the Cubs are going to do to the Padres' hopes and dreams:

In Summary: Matt Garza hasn't posted an ERA above 4 since 2006. Now is no time to start. GO COBS

I know I always do this, but...

there's no way in hell this game gets played.

Would kinda suck to have to do the Russell-Shark Experiment during a double header.

I realize that it is out of necessity, but Russell doesn't really seem like much of a bullpen arm to me let alone a starter. JR Mathes would seem like the better-of-the-worst options to me.

Look for Reed Johnson to get the start today.

Fukudome's wife is having a baby.

with a Cincinatti loss and a Chicago win, Cubs can be tied for the Division lead.

There could conceivably be a 5-way tie for first place after play tonight.

That would require the Cubs to win back-to-back games, which they haven't done yet this year.

They're still at .500, though, which also indicates they haven't lost back-to-back much this year either.

The Cubs won the first 2 games against the D'Backs-their only 2 game winning streak of the year (the two against the Brewers are their only 2 game losing streak).

On the glass-half-empty side, the Cubs are also in striking distance of fifth place.

On the glass-is-still-brand-new side, the season is 2 weeks old.

I can think of few things in life that are as sad as a baseball game rained out.

But what's better than a doubleheader?
