Because Barney is hitting .320 thus far and Fukudome hasn't played in the better part of a week with an injury.

That was horrible. With Coleman up next, getting to 3rd wouldn't have even helped much. Coleman would have bunted Fukudome to 2nd and Soriano probably wouldn't have been able to score anyway. Should have Castro up with two on.

i don't think marlon byrd is the problem, i think it's the fact that marlon byrd is hitting third. if we had a high obp, high power guy - say, at 1B or corner OF - byrd would be fine for what he gives you in CF.

That was some great patience by Barney and Byrd with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. I think that their 2-3 magic has worn off, and its time to put the big kids in those spots.

It's not so much that I think he's a bad player. I'm just not a fan of his style of play, I guess.
