Based on what we've heard about the issues he was having, it almost sounds like he was just having a dead arm period he had to work through and has gotten past it. Here's hoping that's the case and he can maybe help in the bigs soon. If he's ready stuff-wise for it, he can't be any worse than what's been getting tossed out there in the #5 spot.

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet (unless it's been posted elsewhere and I missed it, in which case feel free to make fun of me). Excerpt from Bruce Miles' blog today:

 

We heard that pitchers Randy Wells and Andrew Cashner threw this morning in Arizona and that it went well. Their next stops are live batting practice. The Cubs seem to like the way both are progressing; there’s a chance Cashner isn’t as far behind Wells as first thought.
