Seems to me that in the past, we've allowed dl'ing of players before the season starts, but if they don't begin the season on the DL, they need to be dropped.

I've got Greinke, Bailey + Duch who have already been announced to begin the season on the DL. Plus Latos, who may or may not begin the season there.

I know, everyone's hearts break for me. :)

And...

Latos officially to the DL to start the year. And Matusz took a line drive off his pitching arm today. That makes three pitchers I've lost to the DL since the beginning of spring training, with Matusz possibly being the fourth.

I might have to pick up a free agent just to get 8 starts in week one, even with Pineda making the rotation.

I know I've been gone for awhile, but I believe Adam was the only supporting 8 starts for week 1. Wasn't everyone else that spoke up in favor of 9 starts?

I've patrolled some of the other teams in the league, and actually we probably should just stick to 8 starts.

Does anyone feel passionate about 9? I certainly have 9 worthy starts, but I'm not all that positive that the probable starter feature is all that accurate for this first week. A lot of pitchers could get skipped with off days.

You probably shouldn't do that and just go with what you got ;-).

Post a poll until tomorrow night. We can decide by then. I would vote 9 since Week 1 is an 11 day week instead of 7.

I think 8 is fine given the 1st week of the season has off days and teams going with 4 starts until mid April.

I voted for 9, but could live with either 8 or 9.

2 team have 10 games (Pirates, Twins)

19 teams have 9 games

8 teams have 8 games

1 team has 7 games (Padres)

Median is 9 games, mean is closer to 9 than 8.

I liked Bukie's reasoning from another thread.
