Absolutely snaking.

Sounds like some sort of catch phrase. "This draft is absolutely snakin'! :)

This draft is absolutely snakin' at a snail's pace!

Not sure if I should mention this, but...Bazangas have picked up both F. Martinez and W Castillo. Both players would be potentially eligible for the minors and hence eligible for the prospect draft. Is this legal, or are only players selected in last year's June draft and foriegn signees ineleigible?

I think they are eligible to be picked up now as FA, I just didn't realize that we could already pick up FA. I could very easily be wrong though.

You're probably referring to Bazongas. :D

Minor league eligible players cannot be picked up right now. Both of those players must be dropped. I actually posted that somewhere. Things are getting a bit messy with the different threads, however.

Those guys are eligible to be drafted, BTW.

I think we need that 500 page manual.

Just to clarify though wouldn't both of those players have been eligible for the regular draft since they both have major league experience? Is it just that we are not allowed to pick up any players at this time?

You could draft minor leaguers with major league experience in the major league portion of the draft, but they basically needed to make the big league teams out of spring training for you to technically be able to keep them.

In this prospect portion of the draft, you can choose those players whether they make the big league teams or stay in the minors. Kind of defeats the purpose of a prospect/minor league draft though, if people are snagging up minor leaguers between picks.

I'm driving to Vegas in the morning, so I won't be around to make my pick until late afternoon tomorrow if it's still not my pick before I leave.

I'm heading out for a quick consulting engagement tomorrow afternoon through Friday. If my picks come up then, I'll likely be slow to respond.

Looks like Castillo may fit this criteria.

I think there needs to be a place were all league rules are in a ordered fashion. You can add information onto the league site under details for this purpose. I think it would alleviate a lot of questions and errors going forward if everyone knew there was one place to look. JMO.

You are right that he might make the team. However, you needed to have drafted him in the major league portion of the draft and gambled that he made the roster or be forced to drop him if he didn't.

Now that the major league portion of the draft is over, he's now simply a minor league eligible player that can only be picked up through the draft. Once the draft is over and he is still a free agent, you are welcome to pick him up.

Any players with currently minor league eligibility have to go through the draft process as of now.

The basic rules are already all in one place in a sticky in this forum. It may not be entirely complete, but it would become extremely polluted with gray area rules and make it difficult to filter through for the common rules if you posted every rule.

It's probably more difficult to keep track of all the rules for those people who are on more than 1 fantasy league I suppose, so I can certainly understand where you are coming from.

Whose pick is it?

and will we be able to get through two rounds before the season starts. We really need to. Rosters should be legal and we need to be able to add/drop free agents at will.

let's enforce the 24 hour rule and get this [expletive] going.

Agreed. This is getting a little ridiculous. It's been over 56 hours since a pick has been made.

Anyone tried to contact Chuck?

We shouldn't have to track people down - everyone needs to check in.

I just PM'ed Chuck, in case no one else had, letting him know he's up. IMO, this is common courtesy, not because we *have* to.

That said, I'd suggest we give him 24 hours more, then he forfits if no one hears from him. As others have mentioned, there's not much additional time before the MLB start of the season.

I am starting to see why we did the minor league draft in the fall last time.
