I was really hoping to deposit all 15 checks at the same time for the league fees. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. I'm depositing 12 checks today with 3 people still outstanding on their league fees.

If I don't receive the fees from Chuck, DeShawn and Bob T. soon, I'm going to have to forfeit all points earned so far this season, which also affects the standings. Not sure what else to do at this point, since we are now almost 3 months late in getting paid up. I've also been holding everyone else's checks this long waiting to deposit them together, which means 13 unbalanced check books.

ETA: Actually, after opening all of the envelopes for the teams that did submit their fees, Shane and Don paid cash and Clint paid with a money order, so there are not 13 unbalanced check books. There are 10.

That money order I sent you had a void period of 30 days!!!!

Tough to think of penalties that are fair to the league at this point.

The only way it would be fair to take their points away would be to do it for the entire season rather than finding new managers. That way everybody would be treated the same, effectively having a bye the weeks they were scheduled to play the delinquents.

sorry, i have sucked... i'll go to the post office on friday afternoon and send you a shiny usa $20 bill.

Since when is a $20 bill shiny...Brian I would be careful...:)

Also, I thought personal checks have a shelf life of 3 months after signing so time is running out...

I believe that technically checks are only good for 90 days, but I'm also under the impression that banks rarely enforce the limit.

I probably cash 5 checks every week that aren't dated at all. I don't think banks pay that close of attention to dates.

Could be; I'm not positive. My main point was that I don't think banks enforce it whatever the limit is.

I think it depends on the bank. I had a check that I did not cash for 6 months and the bank rejected it...

Write a check to your bank and back date it by 6 months. I'll bet they cash it.

I think they shouldn't earn points for their games until paid.
Even better than my idea.

If they didn't earn points, and you played them, do you automatically get the win?

Tim, do you have a way to get ahold of chuck to tell him he needs to pay?

I noticed Chuck hasn't been on NSBB in nearly a month (April 11). His profile shows his location as "in limbo." Seems like an accurate description for his current status in Roadkill.
