Non-PPR:

Todd Heap @ Carolina

Antonio Gates v Denver

Gates has significantly more points this year (160 to 93) but it's awful tempting to start anybody against Carolina. Am I right to start the better player, or is there enough difference in the matchup to start Heap?

I'd go with Gates. I don't know if the difference between Denver's and Carolina's defenses are enough to be worth the downgrade in players. It seems to me like Carolina's problems are more on offense (such as no quarterback and no running backs).

True, and that's the main reason I asked the question. I'm leaning heavily toward Gates (in fact, I may just cut Heap since I just picked him up to fill in for Gates' bye week), but Heap against a bad team is tempting since he's finally healthy.

I am convinced. And I believe Gates is healthy now – or at least mostly.

I take that back, he didn't practice today and sounds pretty iffy for Monday. I may take the chance anyway, but I'd much rather start Heap than San Diego's backup TE.

Wait till Saturday, then make a decision. If he's not practicing, then it's a gamble. I have Gates too, but lucky enough to have Whitten as backup (well not last week)

Yeah, guess I'll have to do that. I'd love to know earlier, but at least I have a capable backup in Heap.

Start 2:

S. Jackson v. ATL

M. Turner v. STL

D. McFadden v. PIT

I guess I gotta go matchups here and play Jackson and Turner, no? St. Louis has actually been better against the run than I realized.

No. With Gates out in week 9 he had 2 catches for 23 yards (though both were touchdowns). I wouldn't bank on the scoring to continue with their top receivers getting healthy.

As good as Rivers is, my concern is that Gates puts up huge points because he's that good, not because Rivers simply wants to throw to the TE position. Heap is the better player than McMichael, I think.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Antonio Gates (feet) "would appear doubtful" for Week 11 against the Broncos.

Gates told reporters this week that the bye, in fact, did not help heal his torn plantar fascia, calling the lingering pain "brutal" and "frustrating." Gates might try to warm up before Monday night's game, but he's no longer worth counting on if you have alternatives like Dustin Keller, Zach Miller, or Visanthe Shiancoe in Sunday games. It looks like Randy McMichael will get another start, though he remains only a low-end TE1 in fantasy. Nov. 19 - 10:32 pm et

pick two:

austin vs. DET

floyd vs. DEN

maclin vs. NYG

harvin vs. GB

Floyd is still hurting and with a MNF game you need to drop him from consideration. Harvin is definitely #1. Coin toss on the other two, I would lean towards Maclin as it seems Austin isn't being targeted as much as Bryant/Whitten since Romo went down.
