Dammit. What am I missing in the LSU game by watching the end of the Michigan game?

 

LSU had the ball inside the 5, down 14-10 with 37 seconds left. Ran it on 2nd down and didn’t convert. Were slow to get up and switched personnel and time was about to run out so the center just hiked the ball. The QB never saw it and recovered the fumble as time expired. Tennessee is celebrating when it turns out there was a flag – Tennessee had 13 guys on the field (not just 12, at least 13!) for the play so LSU got a do-over with no time in the game and punched it in to win 16-14.

That was horrible. I'm so tired of poor officiating in these games. It's like if you're the underdog in college football, you also have to beat the refs. There's no reason why it should have came to that. That one drive ultimately led to 3 free points for Ohio State, which was big before that final drive.

 

Giving up 7 right before the half hurt a ton. At the very least, Illinois should have been tied at 10 heading into the locker room. I can't rag on the defense though. They look much improved and considering they seemed like they were on the field the whole game, they did about as good of a job as possible against Ohio State.

 

I came away pretty impressed with Illinois but also not impressed at all with tOSU. Terrelle Pryor has to be the most overrated player in the country and Tressel has no faith in him to throw the football.

I have to say, I'm extremely happy Les Miles did not end up at Michigan.

As one of at least 2 resident LSU fans here, I am utterly embarassed by that "victory". Even though it was a legit penalty, I feel horrible for Tennessee. LSU has no business celebrating that. Miles and Crowton need to be shown the door ASAP!
