Probable Starters

RHP Chris Archer (8-2, 1.80 ERA, 70 IP, 67 K, 39 BB) vs. RHP Elih Villanueva (14-4, 2.26 ERA, 179 IP, 115 K, 34 BB)

Man, I don't think I've ever seen a minor league pitcher with 179 innings in a season.

Last time the Cubs had it happen was 1998 when they had 3 guys do it. One still active, one with less than 100 major league innings, one with a small cup of coffee. Any guesses?

Completely guessing: Foster, Bowie, Downs(although intuition tells me Garland).

EDIT: Not even close. Well, Downs was close, but that's it.

EDIT2: What's the threshold, 180 IP? I can only find 1 guy in 1998.

These are the three I found with at least 179 that year:

farnsworth: 184 IP (102.2 at Iowa, 81.1 at West Tenn)

brian mcnichol: 179 IP at West Tenn

phil norton: 186.1 IP (120.1 at West Tenn, 66 at Daytona)

McNichol had 7 IP at Iowa.

Good to see Chirinos back after he missed the final game of the previous series after a HBP.
