Cullimore was really bad yesterday too. Leddy hasn't been great, but he's been better than Cullimore and Scott.

 

I'm puzzled by this. It's not like Leddy isn't getting a lot of playing time. Is it really better to have him playing the same amount of minutes over in Rockford?

 

Perhaps there are other considerations -- salary, whatever. Or a trade? I don't want to be too reactionary, but at this point Brouwer could go for a depth defenseman.

I'd wait to see how the D is with Campbell back before making a trade for a 3rd line defenseman. I also need to see better play from the 2nd and 3rd lines before I trade Brouwer. I know he's been rather disapointing so far, but its just too soon.

 

That said, something is fishy about this. Leddy hasnt played great, but there are much worse defensive players with 2 way contracts on the roster I believe.

i believe both. leddy's cap hit is like 69,000 at rockford and over a million with the big club.

 

obviously, if he's at rockford, he has no hit to the team, but if he's at rockford, they also only have to pay him 69,000 is what i mean. it will be a weird proration, that's for sure.

If it was a money thing, that's fine, but every minute Jon Scott gets instead of Leddy, the team is weaker. Both now and in the future. Cullimore is terrible too. Please heal up quick Campbell.

At the risk of saying this and then having them kick the crap out of us, I just think they're off to a hot start. Yes, guys like Oshie and Berglund and Johnson are a year older, but they have zero depth. They show they can play well for a couple games at a time, then play awful the next few. That's how they were last year and I expect that's what they will be again. They just happened to start out hot.

 

So I'm concerned about them this week, but it's more because they are a rival who plays us tough.

 

Nice effort by Bickell there. Backes is a tough dude.

I've only watched about a period worth of this game but it seems like the Hawks are getting outworked a majority of the game. Despite this, the play has been fairly even from what I've seen. And the stats bear that out. That is, other than the scoreboard. Hopefully we don't get blanked.

Horrible breakdown. Hawks are probably going to fall to 1-3 at home this year. Remember, only 8 regulation losses at home last year. 3 already this year in mid-October. Not good.
