Could Lilly be traded again?

The Dodgers were on the bubble when they got him and are pretty much out of it now.

The Reds are visiting LA this weekend. Don't discount the possibility that Brandon Phillips sasses them back into the playoff picture.

It seems like the wise move would be to keep Lilly, offer arbitration and collect the picks (especially when Logan White is in charge of your drafts) but teams seem so averse to offering arbitration these days.

Especially since you aren't going to get close to what you gave up for him less than a month ago.

There;s also specualtion that the Dodgers will resign him too though. I ndon't see them trading him for less than what they received in the first place. I'm not a fan of Olney to begin with, but I think he's reaching here.

As far as offering arb to him, I think the Dodgers would do their best to resign him before they had to do that, but if it came down to it, they'd probably let him walk. Although I think a bottom 15 team would give up a 2nd rounder to get him on their staff personally.

Nothing earth shattering, but worth mentioning I suppose...

The Dodgers have placed placed SP Ted Lilly on trade waivers, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.

Lilly, 34, is 5-0 with a 1.83 since coming over via trade from the Cubs. As with Manny Ramirez, Los Angeles must decided if they believe themselves to be legitimate contenders. The Dodgers are five games out of the wild card lead. They have until Tuesday to trade the impending free agents, if they so choose

Now that Mannys gone, the Dodgers seem to be pretty much conceeding, so I really dont see any reason for them not to try to get whatever they can for a month of Lilly. Im sure a lot of contenders would be very happy to have him.
