Honestly, what scares me more than anything, is Lovie's nearly insane optimism about this team...talking about Super Bowls and such. I can't take anything he says seriously when he's delusionally optimistic like that.

I don't know what you want him to say. He could say nothing at all, but I think he's going the old "floating in positivity instead of drowning in negativity" route.

I don't mind him being positive, I just think he's going way, way overboard with it. Honestly, I've just soured enough on Lovie that I'm probably apt to pick apart anything he says.

Safety Major Wright left practice with a tweaked groin muscle after picking off Caleb Hanie over the middle and didn't return. Coach Lovie Smith said the injury wasn't thought to be serious.

Boers, Bernstien and Zaidman all thought it sounded like trouble on the radio...was glad to get home and read this...

Sounds more like trouble to me than nothing. Pulled groins can linger.

Why is Caleb Hanie even in the NFL?

I remember Kiper seemed to think he was one of the guys in that draft who could become an NFL starter down the line. He ended up undrafted, but what do we really know about Hanie at this point? I don't mind stashing him on the roster if he's a developmental type guy.

Is he expected to be second on the depth chart?

Don't know if this is old news (it's new to me), but this was part of my footballguys daily email today:

Source: Mike Mulligan - Chicago Sun-Times

The New England Patriots approached the Chicago Bears in March regarding the possibility of acquiring TE Greg Olsen, according to Mike Mulligan, of the Chicago Sun-Times. The Patriots had three second-round draft picks, and the Bears asked for the first of them - No.44 overall - for Olsen. The Patriots opted to trade up in the NFL Draft to select TE Rob Gronkowski instead.

Someone asked Brad Biggs on Twitter if the Bears had any more interest in Danario and he said he doubts it and they are very concerned about the knee.

Seems weird to be the main scout at his pro day, have him put up impressive numbers, and then just not have interest after that.

I don't have much problem keeping Olsen around right now. Maybe the Bears asked for too much, but whatever. Doesn't really bother me.

I think either LeFevour or Hanie could end up in that spot. We could see what Mike Teel brings and maybe he pushes Hanie a bit, too.

Yeah. I read on one of the ESPN columns the other day that because of Martz installing a new offense that the 3rd and 4th string guys aren't even getting any snaps in camp. It's all Cutler and Hanie.

When we call people from Mizzou slow, we're not talking about footspeed

@BradBiggs Pissed off Cutler in team drills is frustrated with protection, chucks ball out of bounds off top of hospitality tent.

Handful of small kids in tent. Good thing he fired high.

Good. Make him the head coach too.

It really is unbelievable that Jerry didn't address the offensive line this offseason. You can't get away with a poor line.
