Kind of like Raley and Struck the other day, Rhee and Whitenack are really coming on strong.

whitenack has at least sucked less than he did earlier in the year.

tennessee is beating up on mississippi 11-2. flavor of the week russ canzler is 3-4 with a triple, homer and 4 rbi, steve clevenger is 3-4 with a homer and 4 rbi, vitters is 2-4 with a double, jackson has a triple but also 2 k's... seems to be in a bit of a funk. brandon guyer is hitting .444 in his last 10 games and is at .293/.359/.502/.861, and his walk rate and bb/k ratio continue to improve. he's still worth keeping an eye on.

very nice to see rhee pitching well and throwing a lot of strikes. jeff beliveau came on in relief and struck out 5 in 2 innings. he's got 72 K's in 48 innings this year (13.5 per 9 innings) and 241 K's in 180 innings (12.05 K/9 IP) since being drafted, and has only allowed 6.75 hits per 9 innings. not sure what kind of stuff he's got, but usually K rate and "hittability" are two good indicators of how well a pitcher projects as a major leaguer, so....

Don't look now, but Vitters has an OPS of .870 in the past 10 games. And the first two games in that stretch were an 0-4 and 0-6. Hopefully it's not just a quick hot streak and he's getting AA figured out.

thanks for the tip, we'll start keeping an eye on vitters now

Huh?

edit...too mean.

But I will say: you need to work on your snide quips. That's just...sad.

- Marcus Hatley pitched at Mesa today - nice outing (he's only had 2 other outings at Boise since 2009 TJS): 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K.

- 41st round pick and 2009 TJS recoverererer Dallas Beeler made his Cubs debut with Mesa today: 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K.

read the past 10 days of minor league discussion and boxes, there have been plenty of people talking about vitters. you popping in here with a "don't look now" is comical, because everyone who follows this section of the board knows he's been hitting better lately.

I didn't see the big deal. People who've been following this board know that Dae-Eun Rhee's done a very good job in his past three starts, plus there has been discussion on him, but I get the feeling no one's going to jump on davell for pointing that out. That's pretty much all ScrubMD did with Vitters' numbers.

I guess I'll apologize as well for all of us who aren't able to immerse our selves 24/7 on these boards. Maybe we could institute a screening process for those of us with less than 18,000 posts to make sure nothing we post is offensive or just too wacky. I'll forward mine to Truff.

Aww...it's ok. You'll get it right someday. I was pointing out that it's beginning to become somewhat sustained success instead of just a couple good games. Maybe I should watch my wording to keep the weiner-patrol from coming after me, but it just made you look pretty silly so I probably won't.

In case it hasn't been said in a while. Thanks again OO for doing this everyday. Very much appreciated.

Seconded. It's helped me become much more interested in the farm system.

Said weiner patrol posts these threads every day, checks them often, and is gracious for your thanks. You can express your gratitude by dropping this matter.

Well yeah, but he has a 3.55 ERA over his last 10 starts which certainly isn't sucking (and a 2.49 ERA in his last 4 starts).

We are clear that I was referring to Truffle as the weiner patrol, yes? Matter dropped.
