"Typical?" Most of the losses this season have been the result of the offense not being able to muster anything, not the pitching imploding (and especially not the starting pitching).

Sure, but in any typical Cubs game this year, they will lose.

The title of the thread says "typical Cubs loss", not "typical Cubs result".

I'm with NG on this one. As far as losses go, this one was atypical.

Isn't a loss a result? Seems like splitting hairs.

Siding with NG is never a good plan, really...

In the history of the Cubs, this is a typical loss. Come off a good weekend, winning 3 of 4 from the reigning NL champs then lay an egg, and in the first inning to boot.

It's always a good idea.

Look, it's splitting hairs, but there's an obvious difference. If one were talking about the typical outcome it would be saying something like "another typical Cubs game." By saying "typical Cubs loss" it's clearly implying that the way they loss is typical. Again, just nitpicking, but if the former was what was meant then it was a poor choice of words.

I know. I rarely agree with him, but even a blind monkey finds a banana every once in a while.

This.

It didn't specify if it was a typical 2010 Cubs loss, or a typical historical Cubs loss.

Tough crowd.

This is so typical of the Cubs but not a typical loss for this year's team.

The end.

I'm glad the Cubs are playing the Cards this weekend, Larry can steal some more dust from Duncan.
