It's amazing how defensively foolish people sound when somebody points out a prospect has been disappointing.

 

You went out of your way to make a comment on one player for the sole reason of criticizing another player. I'm not sure what else you expected.

I think that was West Side Rooter who did that. Or am I missing something?

So the person who said "don't Vitter out on us" after a guy goes 0-3 with a BB is the smart one? Noted.

 

 

 

Also, to "Vitter out" apparently means to be very young for your league and to struggle at first when promoted aggessively, but then adjust nicely after given a few months to figure things out.

 

Oh heaven forbid somebody make a snide remark about a top draft pick who is playing like crap. Not sure where this adjustment supposedly happened, he's been crap since the callup. I guess one must always assume that a top Cubs pick who isn't performing eventually will perform because the Cubs saw fit to promote him despite a lack of performance.

 

A few is 3-7, I think, or something. He should probably still be at Daytona (where he was doing very well while being young for the league) but the fact that he was aggessively promoted isn't his fault. Also, snide remarks are annoying unless they're funny and/or not completely stupid.

How have I done this? I rarely even talk about Vitters. Somebody else brought it up, then others got all melodramatic about how unfair it is to talk bad about Vitters, and I commented.

Van Dam, that little comment was taken entirely to seriusly. I think very highly of Jackson, and hope he becomes what Patterson and Pie were supposed to. As for Vitters, yeah, hes having a rough go of it now, but his first 3-4 pro years shoudl be viewed as his college years. If hes still struggling by the time hes 23-24, then we'll start talking bust. I just hope the organization is so patient before hes wearing the orange and black.
