Do you think the Cubs will fire Jaramillo?

I'm curious to see if you guys think this will be done. Would they do it after making him the highest payed hitting coach? Will he be yet another Hendry scapegoat?

It's clear our pitching isn't the problem. I like the guy, but the Cubs probably will do something just to do it.

All opinions are welcome.

There's approximately a zero percent chance that they fire a highly paid hitting coach with a multi-year contract, nor should they. The problems clearly aren't his fault, given that the offense also sucked last year under both Perry and Joshua.

My best guess - and it is just a guess - is that new managerial candidates will be informed that Larry & Rudy come with the job.

Larry because he's good.

Rudy because he's hopefully going to have better results next year, and he costs too much to not work.

He's signed to a three-year contract and I would imagine the plan is to let him fulfill it at this point. He deserves some credit for the success of Soriano, Soto and Byrd.

Why? Byrd, I guess maybe. But Soriano is doing nothing he hasn't done before, and his best years were without Rudy. Soto is also doing what he's done before.
